Yeah, I like Doug (at least the early episodes before Disney took over). I was just commenting on the very colorful characters. It wasn't a bad thing back then, so why should it be one now?
I would give this a better view in my mind, if the rumored concept art for the show didn't have to have them having the same skin tone as their pony counterparts Real humans or no-go
The thing is if they do that certain crowds will accuse them of being racist, when humanizing toons, the safest thing to do is keep them their origional colors
Exactly. If they're all white people will ask why they're all white; if they're mostly white but one is black people will ask why only one is black; pretty much the only way to give them real human skin colors without looking racist is to give them 6 different ethnicities, and even then anyone whose ethnicity isn't one of the chosen six will still be able to call them racist.
Yep, sad truth of the modern world, people like to whine & over analyze everything, but you know what they say, theres alaways a wet blanket out there somewhere. But yeah with them being their pony colors they can keep the P.C. groups off their tails and compete with the Monster High crowd, its a win-win! And again I say the show itself has equal chance of being good or bad. DHX Media has a pretty good track record so far we all LOVE MLP:FIM, LPS is decent and pound puppies OK. So I trust Equestria Girls will be a decent show, no where near as good as MLP:FIM but more then decent as a spin-off. Probably won't last more then a season or two though as I don't see the dolls selling as well as Hasbro wants, but thats just me. And for those adimintingly against it we still have the MLP Comic to tide us over till season 4 of Friendship Is Magic starts!
The main reason of freaking out is that people see this show/fandom and think it weird, but the show might get worse of a reputaton
If this thing ends up separate from the show ENTIRELY I will be okay. But if they tie it into the show... Just no. It'll still shock me as a movie though.. I am perfectly fine with them staying ponies..
Hasbro is best troll. Shutting down "Fighting is Magic" + Alicorn Twilight + This all within the same month? Well played. Well played indeed. But seriously, I am totally going to watch this.
I fully intend to give Equestria Girls a chance, just like everypony here did with Friendship is Magic. That said, this little experiment of Hasbro's will most likely not end well.
lol It might not be so bad actually, if they used the same studio as FiM, but they won't. I'm going to have to watch it before I form an opinion, but I think it's going to be a swing-and-a-miss thing.
It might work- They've surprised us before, so perhaps they can surprise us again? Nonetheless, I have little interest in this program. I just struggle to give a crap.
And sadly both Disney & Nick are successful with their crap. I think your being to overzealous though we know next to nothing about the project, it could actually turn out to be a watchable show. Just have to wait & see. Did you learn nothing from Pony my friends, judge a book by its cover one should not.
