So that's why the first 5 pages of this thread are dedicated on fleshing out this idea? I think this is worth a shot, and i fully support it.
Correction: You just don't care and you're speaking for others instead of yourself. This idea needs to be fleshed out more. It's a great idea but it has tons of chinks in the armor that need to be worked out.
I'd like to think that if there were more community events, the other members would actually be interested. I know that I'd be interested, although I have no artistic abilities so I wouldn't be able to take part in many competitions.
if there were more games for the community game night would be nice, I only have BF 3 for my 360, but I have several games I need to start playing again on steam. Mainly World in Conflict: Soviet Assault and Dawn of War II: Retribution
Just saw this. Try posting a 5 paragraph long essay on why you think most of humanity are a bunch of overreligious, homophobic nutjobs, and see how long it takes before it's completely ignored and replaced with the inevitable 'I'm bored'.
I'd say something like this merits its own thread then. This thread or the community? Either way you are wrong.
While SRD made a good point, you too have also raised a good point. Looking at the rules, it does say that a post should be useful, although it only mentions this very briefly. Because the GCT is almost exactly like a chat room, some posters probably feel that they can just post random stuff that is useless. Stuff like that should be saved for the EP chat, not the forums.
Drawing, writing, photoshop. Any of these things could work. Competitions would be awesome Now whos speaking for others members. You assume I don't care. I'd like to see it work. Only question is will people use it. You know why that is. It's not the forum doing that, it's the users. You remember the talk we had about hitler and the "it happends for a reason" thing. Also the whole clop argument. It took part in those talks because they intrested me. I wanted to hear you side and views. During the clop debate who was there. Me, virgil, dan, greyone. Others were online, why didn't they join. They didn't join because they didn't care, I don't mean that in a bad way either. If someone makes a Dr, whooves thread, then chances are I won't post in it because I don't care of the content in the thread. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Pardon me, I misunderstood what you meant. I'm terrible at reading context, what you said makes 2000x more sense to me now. In that case, I completely agree with you. People don't really care. The thing is, we need to find something that people -can- care about.
YaY, we see eye to eye now. It's cool, now hard feelings. That's what I mean by change the users not the forum. The forum is just a place to talk and share. It holds no bearing on how people use it. I love to have a talk like what you metioned above. It sounds fun. Fun to me that is, others might see it as a bore. I still thing contests would help some. I don't mean like what swagg did, but a mod backed contest. What it could be though, I have no idea. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
