Well, being the avid Green Day fan that I am, if I were to submit something of my own, depending on how it works out, one of the songs I'm thinking of is this one: "Macy's Day Parade" by Green Day <- Click to listen. As far as pony songs go, I've never felt really comfortable singing to a song with female vocalists. It just sounds weird for me to do it. Some people can pull it off, but I don't think I can. Maybe I'll give it a shot if I have the time and/or confidence to do so. I probably should submit at least one of my own for two reasons: 1) I feel kinda guilty that I convinced Zephyr Wind to sing a song and he felt bad about his singing, so I think I should probably reciprocate by posting one of my own. 2) I made that poll about this and voted "Yes" so I suppose I'd make some ponies angry if I didn't keep my word. I'll see what I can do.
I recorded myself doing three songs....two were embarrassingly god-awful. I deleted them immediately after uploading them. The last one....eh, we'll seen. It's on my YouTube channel...thing. Go find it yourselves.
"On Melancholy Hill" by Gorillaz, huh? I found it and I listened. I wish you'd link it here, because there is nothing wrong with it, but I'll respect your decision not to. I can understand. I don't know if my input helps at all, but I think you did fine. I hope that makes you feel even the tiniest bit better about it, because I sincerely mean it. I'm not just saying it to be nice. I only consider it "god-awful" if I can't stand listening to the voice. Your singing voice, I can listen to. Don't worry about it so much, Zephyr. I'm glad you've decided to sing another song. I'm not a huge fan of Gorillaz, but I have listened to some of their music. This is the first time I've ever heard "On Melancholy Hill." I decided to listen to the original first before I heard you sing it just for a comparison. For some reason, when I started hearing the vocals in the song, I thought, "I can imagine Zephyr singing this one." I was right, you know. You did a pretty good job. Props to you once again.
I know what I shall sing. "Ring of Fire" By Johnny Cash. I have always been a huge fan of him, and also, Many MANY Big Band era people. Johnny Cash forever! R.I.P.
Zephyr, you should definitely post your karaoke of "On Melancholy Hill." I thought you did an awesome job! Perfect style for you. Perhaps see if there are other songs with similar tempos and rhythms and give those a shot. I bet you'll do great!
