Silver snorted in derision. "Guns are a coward's toy. I'll stick with what I know." His gaze fell upon an ancient helmet bearing the emblem of Nightmare Moon. He put it on and found that it fit his head perfectly. It even matched his armor. "On second thought, I think I will take this." Holly, as usual, said nothing.
Ocean took the weapon she knew the most, the standard assault rifle and a handgun. Crimson on the other hand took an Semi Auto rifle, a sniper rifle, a handgun and a samurai sword, all of them were custom made just for him.
Robin grabbed some new experimental bolts for his crossbow and headed back out but not before implanting a experimental targeting system entitled V.A.T.S Into his helmet. "well I'm ready, now that I've got some experimental incendiary, poison, acid and lightning bolts".
"Great... let's head out." Crimson said towards the commander. The group was then escorted to a helicopter outside of the palace which served as the groups flagship and Crimsons home away from home. "Make sure you go to the bathroom now... this is going to be a very long flight."
Silver stared at the helicopter with obvious contempt. "I'll be riding near the exit. I don't feel like dying when this thing falls out of the sky." Silver despised modern technology, especially on the battlefield. "Maybe I'll just fly alongside, if you think that this piece of junk can keep up with me." Holly continued to say nothing, and jumped into the strange machine. She understood that Silver would be able to fly much faster without her. Finding a comfortable seat, she curled up and went to sleep. Silver tossed his saddlebag onto the seat next to her. "I'll keep radio contact. I'm just not riding in that bucking thing." He stretched his bat-like wings and launched himself into the air. Flying in a lazy figure-eight pattern, he waited for Crimson's ridiculous flying machine to take off. When he glanced at the castle, he saw that Princess Luna was once again watching him. He ignored her. He had bigger problems to deal with.
The Helicopter lifted from the sky while Silver was flying alongside. This wasn’t what Ocean was expecting. She was assigned into a squad of ultra elite soldiers to stop a potential apocalypse from being unleashed on the planet, what she didn’t expect was the cutest and most lethal stallion she had ever met leading the mission. She knew that even that she didn’t want to say out loud, she liked him. But how would he react if she told him... “What’s the matter?” Crimson said. She felt super nervous and embarrassed about her commander and what his expectations were. She didn’t want to fail, but she also didn’t want to say those three words so soon. “Um.... Corporal Lionheart, am I allowed to call you Crimson?” she said. Crimson nodded his head in agreement while he let Ocean continue her speech. “Can.....um....you.” she tried to spit the words from her mouth but nothing came out until she spat something out. “CanItalktoyouinprivatewhenwe getdroppedoffbecauseiloveyou?” she said in the fastest tone she had ever spoken. Her face turned bright red when she realized that she said too much. She put her hooves over her mouth to stop the tidal wave of emotion come from her mouth. Crimson laughed a little and smiled. “Of course you can corporal wave. We should be there in about 4 hours.” He said. Ocean let go a sign of relief when found out her commander didn’t hear what she said. “By the way... I heard the last part.” Crimson said, having a faint but the unmistakeable blush marks on his cheeks. Ocean then screamed like a fangirl when she knew that even though they just, he had some feelings for her. Unexpectedly... the mare fainted shortly after. It was like her dreams were coming true
Silver reached for his radio and turned the volume down. He had hoped that the only other Pegasus on the team would be a decent warrior. Instead, she was acting like a school-filly. He sighed, and flew towards the helicopter to check on Holly. He glanced into the window and saw that the timber-wolf was still asleep. Silver was not surprised. She had once slept through an Ursa Major attack.
Crimson noticed Silver look into the helicopter window as he was sitting down. Knowing a bad relation between Silver and technology, Crimson tuned in to a communication channel to chat to Silver, which might have been the only useful piece of technology to silver. "Sorry you seen that, she'll be fine. From what i have heard, she was top of her division in training. She also has done some spec ops training, but this would be her first official mission." Crimson said. "Sir... we have almost reached our destination. ETA 3 minutes.." the pilot said. "Excellent... we will be dropped just outside of their range. From then it should be smoo-" Crimson was cut down as an explosion hit the helicopter, causing the flying machine to fall out of the sky with the pilot being killed in the blast. "Oh... you son of a b-" Crimson yelled
Using every bit of strength and speed available to him, Silver slammed his entire body into the side of the falling helicopter. There was no way to prevent the crash, but he was able to slightly alter the chopper's angle of descent away from a mountain, and into a lake. As the helicopter struck the water, Silver tore open the door. "Everypony out! This thing is sinking fast!" Holly, who had somehow managed to sleep through the crash, woke up when she heard Silver's voice. She grabbed Silver's saddlebag in her teeth, and was the first one out of the chopper and into the lake.
As the members of the team quickly escaped the sinking helicopter crash, Crimson had to carry a unconscious Ocean to dry land. The moment they all made it to land, an explosion underwater rushed into the air and made a short artificial rain. This would not be the only dangerous part of the mission, but the thought of having to face off against Sollus and his enormous army made Crimson worried. “Is Everypony ok? Damn that was close; we would be goners if the explosion hit the engine bay. It looks like this isn’t a stealth mission anymore... there goes our only advantage.” Crimson announced. “I’m no big fan of Suicide missions, but everypony is counting on us to stop this madman. Anypony have a plan B?”
Silver laughed. "Plan B? I'm still on Plan A! Did you think that I would be foalish enough to trust my life, and the fates of Equestria and Everfree, to a machine?" Silver opened the saddlebag that Holly had rescued from the crash. He pulled out a small jar containing several live parasprites, and another jar filled with a glowing blue powder. "Powdered poison joke. Highly concentrated. Very rare. I only know of one zebra that can safely prepare it." He opened both jars and shook a small amount of powder onto the parasprites. The creatures began to multiply at an incredible rate, much faster than normal. The rapidly growing swarm quickly flew off in the direction of the enemy. "That should be enough of a distraction. We now have stealth on our side again. What's next, Crimson?" Silver next turned his attention to Ocean. The Pegasus looked injured. He reached into his bag again and pulled out a bottle filled with a disgusting looking brown liquid. "You're useless to us if you can't fight. Drink this. It should heal your wounds."
“I’m impressed. You’re much better than what the dossier reported about you, and for that we have your gratitude.” Crimson looked at Ocean as the colour of her mane began to regain some of its colour. Ocean slowly started to regain consciousness as her wounds started to disappear rapidly. After a few moments, she woke up like the beginning of a new day and looked around in a daze. “What happened? Where is the helicopter and why are we all soaking wet?” she asked. Crimson looked at the corporal with a slightly sad look on his face. “The Helicopter was shot down and is in a million pieces at the bottom of the lake, Silver here had also managed to save your life as well with medicine. He also created an enormous diversion that would by us several days or even weeks of planning and executing. Without him... we would have died.” Ocean looked surprised at the news but then looked at Silver and Holly with a devastated look on her face. “I’m sorry about the way I have been acting Silver. I never meant to act like a filly when in Crimsons presence or the group. Once we finish this mission, consider a big repayment from me ok?” Ocean apologized. “My Presence?” Crimson interrupted. Ocean than looked around her and just told Crimson that it was “a long story.” “Now that we have that out the way, let’s get this done and back home alive. Sollus will still be taken DOA as the mission details said. We might hold the enemy for about several hours incase we are pinned down, then basically all of the nations armies will face against Sollus organisation in a last case scenario.” “What are they sending against Sollus” Ocean interrupted. Crimson then looked towards the castle miles in the distance that Sollus had as his base of operations. “Everything....”
Silver took the empty bottle from Ocean and placed it back in his saddlebag. "The bottles are enchanted with zebra magic. They refill after about ten minutes." He turned to Holly and spoke a single word. "Kill." The timber-wolf gave a snarl and rushed towards the castle, disappearing quickly into the distance. "She'll be fine. A timber-wolf's body is easy to destroy, but their hearts are indestructible. Holly can keep re-forming herself indefinitely. She should keep the enemy busy until we arrive." He turned back to Crimson. "A dossier? That's odd. I've been trying to stay out of sight. I've only left the forest a dozen times, and most of those trips were to Ponyville. When we get back to Canterlot, Luna owes me some answers... But that's not important, now. What's our next move?"
Robin stayed silent the entire time jumping out of the copter when he knew something was wrong. As he finally caught up to the others he was covered in seaweed from head to two from his full face helmet to his hind hooves. "looking at the castle from this angle it looks a good half hour away. My plan find a castle sewer exit".
Silver shrugged. "That's not the worst idea... it could work. I'll fly ahead and look for our way in. If the place is anything like Castle Harmony, the sewage outlet will be well hidden, and unless Sollus is a complete foal, it will also be protected by magic." He flew off toward the enemy stronghold.
Ocean looked at the lake with a smile on her face. “I have a thing for water; I might be able to help with plan here. Ocean looked at the castle before she closed her eyes and pointed at the water, she could feel a strange vibe coming from it. After about ten seconds, she opened her eyes and pointed in a direction closer to the castle. “I could feel some entrance inside the water, it’s hidden but its definitely in that direction.” Ocean said with a smile the size of Canterlot. Crimson looked impressed, the Pegasus who has has a crush on him had managed to locate the entrance within seconds. “Very well done, but we should wait until Silver returns. He did say that the entrance is protected by magic.”
Ridley returned looking disgusted. "I've got good news, bad news, and REALLY bad news. They sent out a small group to find us. I managed to... convince them... to tell me what we need to know. The good news is, I know how to open the secret entrance. It's a relatively simple opening spell, but it must be cast by two unicorns at the exact same time." "Now for the bad news. I wasn't able to learn the location of the entrance. We may not have time to search for it. Even if we do find it... all I was able to learn is that there's... something... down there waiting for us."
"good thing, ocean has an idea of where it is then. Well ocean, lead the way". Robin said loading a lightning bolt into his crossbow. Ready for whatever Ridley said was waiting for them.
“Everypony equip their rebreather's, the last thing you want to do there is face that thing below us while our lungs explode due to lack of oxygen.” Crimson equipped his immediately while the others took several moments longer. Once done, they all dived head first into the lake. They found the entrance very quickly along with the remains of the helicopter and the pilot , but they also found something else as well...
Silver had hoped to stay out of the water. He was a Lunar Pegasus, not a Seapony. He wasn't a strong swimmer, and his perfect night vision was useless in the murky water. To make matters worse, he was being forced to trust his life to the 'rebreather' device that Crimson had given him. "At least things can't get any worse," he thought to himself as Robin and Crimson cast the spell to open the entrance. When he saw the first head appear within, he assumed that it was Sea-Serpent, a vain, cowardly creature. When the other three heads appeared, he realized that he was looking at a Hydra.
