He nodded, stretching his arms. "Works for me. I'm paying, though." *** She nodded. "Is that unusual?" *** "I'm just glad no one is seriously injured anymore.."
She squinted, getting in her car. "No. I'm your assistant, remember?" * * * "Yes," he replied. "Apparently." * * * "It wasn't your fault," she said. "Just... be a little more careful opening doors."
He shook his head. "It isn't business hours. Besides, I don't like that excuse." *** She looked a little surprised. "Huh." *** "Yeah.. I'm planning on it."
She huffed as they pulled into the drive thru. "This isn't right." * ** He pursed his lips before gesturing. "Let's get in the car, I suppose." * * * She pulled up to his place, looking over at him. "Is this it?"
"Too bad," he replied smoothly, a small smirk on his face. *** She nodded, getting in and looking around curiously. *** He looked out the window before opening the door. "It is. Thank you for the ride."
She glared, but squinted at the menu with a frown. "What do you want?" * * * He got in the driver's seat and started up the vehicle, getting onto the main road. * * * "Sure. Get some sleep."
He grinned at her. "Just a hamburger." *** She looked out the window, watching the buildings go past. *** He gave her a wave before going inside.
She pulled up to the window and spoke. "Hi, could we please get a hamburger and a medium order of curly fries?" she asked primly, resting her head back in the chair tiredly. * * * "I suppose I could have just turned into a wolf and we could have gotten home that way..."
He pulled out his wallet, giving her the card. *** She looked back at him with a smile. "That would've been cool."
She squinted and slowly pulled out her own card as they got to the window. * * * "For you. I wouldn't have remembered it."
She paused before giving him a devilish smile. "It's not business hours." The fog grew a little as she turned, offering her card to the person at the window. * * * "You would have been the talk of the town."
He squinted before reaching over her and taking the card, putting his own in the window instead. *** "That doesn't matter as much to me. The experience is the best part."
She laughed out loud, pushing on his chest. "This is not civil!" His card was taken. * * * "I would have been taken down by the superhero society."
He sat back, satisfied. "Much better." *** "Hmm. I suppose that's true." She pointed to the bookstore. "There it is."
She glared at him. "I forgot to tell you, I'm turning in my two-weeks notice." * * * He parked, yawning tiredly.
She squinted as they got their food and she drove off again. "Yes, I am. You can't contain me, Mr. Audra." * * * He got out too, locking the door behind him.
He laughed, shaking his head. "We'll see." *** She went inside, heading upstairs as she got out her kitchenware.
She pulled into a park parking lot, shutting off the car and pulling out a blanket from the backseat. "Come on," she said quietly. "Sit on the hood?" * * * He came into the kitchen as well, looking around.
