He was looked down at her adoringly. "No problem.. Have a good night." *** She rested her head on her hands. "What are you doing today?"
She leaned against the car, looking up at him. “Why are you looking at me like that?” *** He grimaced. “Preparing.”
He seemed mildly embarrassed by his own feelings. "I think you're lovely." *** She looked back before turning to him. "Oh.. Can I help?"
Her hard face softened and she considered him before her hand rested on his jaw and she kissed his cheek, her lips soft. * * * "With preparing? You can lock me in my cage, if you'd like."
He relaxed, brushing her hair back gently. "I'll see you tomorrow." *** She looked surprised. "Cage?"
"I'll see you tomorrow," she said, getting into the car. She winded down the window and glanced at him. "And Levy... I like you a lot too." * * * "Cage. So I don't hurt anyone."
The next day, Beck called his cell phone. "Mr. Audra, I'm sorry, but I'm..." She coughed several times, covering the phone speaker. "I'm a little under the weather." * * * "And set aside some raw steaks."
"That's alright, Beck," he told her, sounding a little worried. "And you can call me Levy. I don't mind." *** "Huh. Alright then."
He would be able to hear the smile in her voice. "Levy is for when I kiss you," she told him. "Mr. Audra is for everything else." * * * "It's really fun."
"Hm. I'll send you an email with your briefing. See you tomorrow." * * * "Do you want to see the cage?"
She hung up with a click. (Zoop!) Beck was in her apartment, hugging a mug of tea and shivering. * * * "When the moon comes out."
She looked up before going over to the door, a blanket wrapped around her and a mug of tea clasped in her hands as she shivered. *** He laughed dryly. “Does it? I spent a lot of time trying to make sense of it.”
