She looked surprised before leaning forward and kissing him, her hand against his chest. *** He sneezed before lying his head down.
That empty ache he had been feeling ever since she withdrew from him warmed slightly, filling his chest. She moved closer to him, still kissing him back. *** He followed her, falling asleep soon after.
"You're lovely," he told her warmly. *** Veronica woke slowly. She got up with a stretch and went to get some water.
Her hand cupped his jaw and she considered him. “Hm. I think you might be biased.” *** Gideon woke as well. He sat up, looking bewildered before he saw the scraps of meat. “Oh my God.”
He leaned into her touch. "Maybe a little." *** She poured herself a cup before starting back to the bedroom.
She paused, watching him. “So... we’re friends that kiss.” *** He was pacing the room, his hands running through his hair.
“Right?” she asked, her hand on his neck. “Am I misdefining this?” *** He jerked his head up before hurrying over to her, embracing her. “I thought I ate you!”
"..Just friends, though?" *** She hugged him back, looking a little confused. "I just went to get water."
She paused, eyeing him, her thumb brushing his lips. “...well, yes. We’re not dating, are we?” *** “Why was I out? What is this meat on the bed? Why was I on the bed?”
He hesitated. "Would you be opposed to that?" *** She hesitated, frowning as she looked down. "It was a long night. You kept whining and hurting yourself in the cage so I let you out because I knew you wouldn't hurt me.. I tried to get you to go back in the cage after a bit, but you wouldn't so I just made you stay in here. And the meat is bacon." She sighed, looking mildly upset. "I'm sorry.. I don't think I'm good with that type of responsibility because I feel too bad when you're in there."
She fixed his collar with a frown. “Well, no, but Levy... you haven’t asked me on a date. So we’re not dating.” *** He looked amused. “You’re too soft.”
He raised his eyebrows at her. "Very well. Are you available Friday night?" *** She huffed, crossing her arms. "Yeah. And also I'm sorry for kissing you."
She looked a little surprised, her hand on his chest. “Really?” *** He glanced over at her, frowning. “When?”
