"Would you be better off?" he asked her, his brows furrowing. *** She tilted her head slightly, looking back at the paintings as if she were trying to find his. "Alright.."
"No," she said, shaking her head. "But I'd rather you didn't feel so uncomfortable." * * * He smirked, leading the way out.
He waved it off. "Eh.. I'm always uncomfortable. You'll get used to it." *** She squinted at him. "When can I see yours?"
She hesitated, leaning back against the wall as she considered him. "Do I make you uncomfortable?" * * * "I have work later tonight. I'm closing."
He frowned, looking back at her. "You? Not really, no." *** She nodded, maybe looking a bit unsure. "I was just wondering if you'd like to see a movie sometime.. Or something."
"Are you sure?" she asked with a small laugh. "You seem uncomfortable." * * * He looked over at her in surprise before a smile crossed his face. "That sounds lovely, Mari."
"Don't worry," he said. "It's just the situation." *** She brightened. "Really? That's good. That's exciting."
She frowned but was interrupted as another individual entered quickly. She reached out and pressed a hand to the chest, making the man stiffen and fall instantly. She didn't break eye contact with Adonis. "I'm sorry you're feeling badly." * * * "It is, isn't it? Do you want to go tonight? I have work until 8..."
He watched her, his head tilted. "I'm alright." *** She grinned. "I can wait till then, if you're interested."
She frowned before pulling off her mask. "Do you get better?" * * * "Eight. What movie do you want to watch?"
She raised an eyebrow before turning to the door. "That was the last one." * * * "Winging it," he said, nodding sagely. "My favorite plan."
"We're done," she said, looking down. "We can go our separate ways." * * * He paused before glancing at her. "So... is this a date?"
