They got to his house and he brought her in, turning to look at her nervously. "Are you alright?" * * * She laughed, getting out of the car.
She reached up to touch her head. "Yeah.. I think.. Are you okay?" *** He followed her, looking around.
He nodded slowly, still focusing on her cut. "Here... come sit down.." * * * She led him into the forest and they eventually came upon a break in the trees. They were standing on a cliffside and Gwen smirked, looking cocky. "Okay."
He hesitated, looking at her. "Do you mind if I touch you?" * * * "Adonis," she said sweetly. "Guess what we're doing?"
He nodded, still looking concerned before he began to clean the wound. * * * She looked offended. "What? Why not?"
He laughed slightly, but sounded genuinely upset. "You already asked me that." * * * "Yes," she said slowly, eyeing him. "And...?"
"You're worried about me?" he asked immediately, looking down at her in surprise. "Mari... you saw me. You saw what I did." * * * "Are you afraid?"
He looked down at her, looking extremely tired. "Let's get you cleaned up," was all he said, wiping away the blood. * * * She laughed, raising an eyebrow. "I'll jump with you."
She was quiet for a moment before reaching up, her hand brushing his jaw. *** He was simply glaring at her.
He hesitated, looking down at her worriedly. "Mari..." * * * She gave him a sparkling smile. "Adonis, I do this all the time. You said you trusted me."
Watching her hesitance seemed to make him feel worse and he slumped slightly. "No. No, it's not," he said, affixing a bandage to her head. "Here. You should sleep." * * * Her whole face lit up. "Really?"
She figured it might be best to give him some space, standing up. "I don't have any spare clothes.. They're at my house." *** "Let's get it over with."
He stepped back from her, avoiding her gaze. "Okay." * * * She beamed at him, clearly delighted before offering a hand.
