She huffed, letting go of him. "Fine then." *** He closed the door, getting in on his side and starting the car before driving off. "I brought extra blankets and pillows, as well as snacks. And extra hoodies, if we get cold."
He grinned, walking over and opening the cupboard and pouring her a glass of water. *** She looked over at him curiously. “We’re not jumping in ice water again, are we?”
She went back to the table, continuing to eat. *** He laughed, glancing at her momentarily. "Nah. That's your thing."
He brought it back over to her, brushing his fingers along her back before sitting down. *** “Then what are we doing?”
She looked over at him adoringly, observing his expressions and movements. She smiled. "It feels strange to say 'I love you'. I'm not used to it." *** He pursed his lips. "Drive-in."
"Yeah," she said thoughtfully. "I mean, I have no doubts, it's just new to say it out loud instead of just thinking it." *** He hesitated. "Is that okay?"
“Hm,” he said playfully, giving her a grin. “I love you.” *** She reached over and gently rubbed his arm. “That sounds great.”
After they were done, he stood up, taking her plate. * * * She folded her hands, looking excited. "It's a strange sensation. I'm not normally the one wondering about what we're doing."
She watched him thoughtfully. "How are you feeling?" *** He smiled at her. "Except my activities aren't terrifying."
"I'm alright," he said, going over to wash the dishes. "Whenever that happens, I always feel a little like I just got over a really bad cold." * * * "Mine aren't terrifying," she said flatly.
He laughed, slipping his free arm around her waist and shutting off the water. "Things about me, huh? I'm not very interesting." * * * She squinted before looking up as they drove in.
"Hm. I think you are." *** He paid and they entered. He backed into a spot and reached into the backseat, pulling out blankets and a bag of snacks.
"Yes, well... you're interested in me in multiple senses of the word." * * * She watched him, tilting her head thoughtfully. "Thank you for doing all this."
