She sighed, watching him affectionately. "You'll be back late, then." *** He went over to her, getting on his knees beside the couch. "Gwen?"
He looked apologetic. "Yeah, a little." * * * She opened her eyes blearily. Upon seeing him right next to her, she yelped, sitting up straight. "*squee!*!"
"That's alright. I'll be able to find things to do." *** He jumped at her reaction. "Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you."
"I have faith," he told her, kissing her cheek. * * * She looked over at him, her eyes wide. "You're awake. Are you feeling better?"
"In about..." He checked the time on the stove. "30 minutes." * * * "I'm so sorry," she said, eyeing him worriedly. "I didn't realize you'd pass out..."
She came over to him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Can I bring you something to eat while your at work?" *** He kissed the top of her head gently.
He frowned, tilting his head. "You don't have to. The shop will be closed." * * * She looked up at him thoughtfully. "Why did you get so nervous?"
"Oh. Don't worry, sweetness. I just need to finish with a couple of customers and lock up and clean." * * * She frowned. "Why didn't you tell me?"
".. I'm gonna do it anyways." *** "I did. One of the first questions you asked was what I couldn't handle and I said small spaces. I should have been clearer about people, though."
"Mari..." * * * Her eyes widened and she straightened up, looking at him. "Oh, *squee!*. I totally forgot," she said, looking panicked. "Adonis, I'm so sorry. I mean, I didn't forget, but I thought that was like, closing you in a box, or something."
"It'll be like a dinner date," she told him. "Except out of tupperware." *** He kissed her cheek. "I know. I should have elaborated."
"I'd never turn down a date with you, but you don't have to..." * * * She still looked worried, watching him nervously.
