(Yoop!) Adonis delivered the frozen statue of Veronica. She was frozen in time and turned to stone, her eyes and hand up as she had just opened the door. Darren, his dark hair slicked back and green eyes malicious, approached the statue with a smirk. "You would never have survived without me." Adonis watched Darren, his sharp eyes fixated who he temporarily cowered before.
Gideon and Gwendolyn were there first. "This is the place," Gwen said, adjusting her gloves. "Are you ready?" "Let's just make this quick," Gideon growled, that wolflike bite already in the back of his throat. She nodded and busted down the door as Gideon transformed.
When they got there it was ominously quiet and dark. The building was a tall warehouse. It was pitch black. Gideon would be able to smell three things most noticeably; Veronica, an unfamiliar person that smelled vaguely of chemicals, and a snake. The silence was broken by shifting in the distance, along with a slithering hiss.
Gideon growled before hurrying into the darkness, his paws making noises in the darkness. Gwen followed him, her eyes seeing through the darkness easily. Beck approached the building, her head tilting back thoughtfully as she regarded the warehouse.
In the center of the room was Veronica, stuck as stone. Something heavy dropped from the rafters above. They would see a large snake tail, coiling up as Adonis rose before them, staring down at the two to catch their eyes. Mari slipped into the building quite easily through the dark, forming from the shadows. Levy was just arriving, his brows furrowed as he inspected the warehouse from afar.
Beck looked down at the splintered door before entering, disappearing in the darkness. Ben approached the warehouse as well. He looked pale, not from his powers, but from nerves. He hadn't been summoned in years. Gwen offered a playful smile, although it was difficult to see under the mask. "Hey, Snakey. Whatcha up to?" Gideon growled.
Levy slipped in, a breeze following him. A flare lit up, dropping between Gwen, Gideon, and Adonis. It bathed the space in a red light, shadows dancing around the figures. Adonis took this distraction as a chance to strike, sweeping his tail across the floor to down the two in front of him.
Gideon snarled and leapt at Adonis, fangs baring. The tail got Gwen, but she latched on, sticking her hands on as venom swept through Adonis' system. Beck entered and blinked at the spectacle in front of her with a frown.
Adonis huffed, trying to ignore the venom coursing through him as he tried to get her off as well as get a good look into Gideon's eyes. Mari dipped into the shadows, reappearing besides Veronica's statue and taking it with her into the corner of the warehouse, safer from harm.
Gideon growled, snapping at Adonis' neck. Ben also entered the room and looked around, looking a little bewildered. Gwen barked out orders towards Gideon. "Don't look at him!" she called, climbing up Adonis' body. "Don't make eye contact!"
Adonis hissed, pulling back as Gideon's teeth bit his neck, blood dripping as he flailed in a frenzied rage, scratching, clawing, biting to get out of his grip.
He threw Gideon back and the Wolf hit the wall, yelling and falling to the ground. He wasn’t moving. Ben looked at the Wolf, his brow furrowing with worry before he turned, looking back at the snake. He sighed before stepping out of the darkness, his eyes rolling back in his head as the veins under his skin turned black and he lifted a hand. Adonis would feel his insides beginning to bubble and tear. Blood ran from his eyes and mouth.
Levy dashed in front of him, knocking down Ben as Adonis fell, clearly incapacitated. "You'll kill him if you keep that up!" He paused, his eyes wide as he backed up slightly. "I know you."
He shuddered as he returned to normal, looking pale... "You... you know me?" he asked, his voice ragged. He sounded breathless.
Beck noticed Ben and came up to him, her brow furrowed. Her face was obscured but her voice was unmistakable. "What did you do?" she asked, her voice compelling. "Did you make it irreversible?"
Her head jerked towards Levanin and there was a silence for a moment. "It wasn't," Ben said tiredly. "Beck, I can't... I don't..." "I know," she replied, still looking at Levy solemnly. "I'll go check on him."
Darren dropped gracefully from the ceiling his eyes glinting. Levy looked back, his gaze sharp. He looked to Mari. "You! Help him. I'll handle this guy." Mari nodded hesitantly, coming over with a frown. She looked down at Ben, pausing with a panic as she saw him. "Are you okay?" Adonis was out cold, his face bloody.
Beck looked up, frowning slightly. "Are you the one who did all this?" she asked quietly, not letting the power loose just yet. Ben looked up and his face paled even more. "Mari...?"
