She looked over at him and her eyes widened slightly, and the wave of warmth that came over him was overwhelming as she hurried over to him, pulling him into an embrace. * * * He pouted, sitting on the counter. "You seem upset."
She looked up at him, surprisingly not composed for her. She was beaming at him, her hand on his jaw. "Hello." * * * "I did it out of affection, sweetness."
The warmth grew and she laughed slightly. "I missed you too," she said quietly, her thumb brushing his cheekbone gently. * * * "I can go home if you'd like. I was having a nice time."
She kissed him back, her hand curled in his shirt. "We should get you home," she murmured, pulling away slightly. "You must be tired." * * * "No, you can eat the eggs and bacon by yourself."
He nodded slowly. "A bit. I want to spend time with you." *** She looked over at him with a frown. "Gideon.."
She considered him for a moment, raising an eyebrow thoughtfully. "Hm... do you want to head back to my place? You can nap and I can make you something." * * * He shook his head, picking up his coat.
He kissed her cheek. "I'd love that, Beck." *** She frowned, turning him and touching his arm. "Gideon, stay."
She nodded, stepping back and taking his hand. "Good. Come on..." * * * He turned to her, picking her up in one smooth motion and tossing her over his shoulder in a fireman's hold. "Fine."
He sighed, squeezing her hand. "God, I missed you." *** She gasped, her eyes widening. She laughed, propping herself against his back. "Nice view."
She looked back at him with a small smile. "I missed you too, Mr. Audra," she said smoothly. * * * "Veronica!" he chided playfully.
(Zoop!) A while later, they were in Beck’s apartment. His bags had been set by the door, and Beck had drawn up a bed for him so he could be close by while she cooked. She stood at the stove now while old music played over the radio. *** “You know what!”
She took a taste of the tomato sauce before nodding to herself, getting out two bowls for Levy and herself. She made a serving and came over, setting it by him and running her fingers through his hair gently before returning to the stove. *** “You like my coat!”
She was back at the stove. A bowl of penne pasta with some fresh tomato sauce and Parmesan was next to him, along with a glass of wine. *** “Oh my God, stop flirting with me.”
