He flushed, pulling out his clothes. "Thank you." *** She watched him, her brows furrowing. "What about breakfast..?"
She raised an eyebrow before heading into the bathroom, leaving the door open. * * * He turned the corner.
He tilted his head, going to get dressed while she was in the bathroom. *** She frowned, continuing to wait by the door.
She brushed through her hair, rubbing the back of her neck tiredly. After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she pulled down a small makeup bag off the shelf. * * * He didn't return.
She squinted, looking through her bag before coming out to the bedroom. "Lev, have you seen my..." She paused, looking over at him, pursing her lips in embarrassment. * * * He was just around the corner, looking sheepish. "I thought I won that one."
He looked back at her, his head tilted. "Your what?" *** She sighed. "I don't want to be without you."
She huffed slightly, crossing her arms. "My eyelash curler," she said primly. * * * He patted her head gently. "It's okay, my sweet furry."
She rolled her eyes, before speaking. "Two can play at that game, you know." * * * "Don't worry. I won't say it."
She returned to the bathroom, shaking her head. * * * He hesitated. "I never promise furries anything."
He chuckled lowly, continuing to get ready. *** She didn't say anything, but pulled away, going back to her room.
She leaned over the countertop quickly applying her mascara and her lipstick before zipping up her bag. * * * He watched her leave, tilting his head.
He tied his tie and brushed his hair back. "I don't have work tomorrow." *** She didn't return. He would hear the door shut.
He would hear her laugh from the bathroom. "I'm well aware," she replied. "I manage your schedule for you, or have you been gone for so long that you've forgotten?" * * * He paused before turning, heading down the hallway, his shoulders slightly slumped. Maybe this had been a mistake. Maybe he should date someone who could take a joke.
