As the title suggests (a bit), a little amount of Non-English music talk is appreciated here.

As i grew up, i listened to all kinds of music, but i definitely have to say that my language's songs (seriously) has the best sound and vibe to them. Music is an aspect i really am both proud and ashamed of my land (referring to Yugoslavia, not Serbia). The "real pop" in Yugoslavia is great. And so is rock. And so is rap. In all of these genres i admit i love Yugoslavia over any other land. Now, to the "Country music"... Hell, does anyone like Country music? Serbia (Yugoslavia, whatever) really sucks because of this, so called "music". It gives music a bad name. I don't know how American Country music is, but our country music, basically, is something like this: Take a monkey, and make him write lyrics and make a cool beat to sing the song to.

...No matter. What i'd love to see is you guys present your land's music in it's lightest glory or in it's darkest shame. Link to them. Tell us why it's awesome or why it stinks.

Here's why i am proud:

This is the first time I'm listening to Yugoslavia-music, and I like it.

I don't really like music from France, if we took the one who're release now... Before, it was better! Even if some French bands are great, most of them sing in english, the only band I know who sing in French right now is Mass Hysteria...

And, before, we had this:

The way he sings it makes it very emotional. My favorite latin song ; 3

I am Russian, but I really love music in various languages, my mp3 player has songs in more than 20 languages. Yugoslavian music is one of the best for me, but IMHO there are decent modern songs as well, my favourite modern singer from Serbia is Svetlana Ceca Raznatović.

But I think some of you may be interested to hear more Russian music. There are really lots of awesome bands and singers in Russia - I could post here hundreds of YT links.

Here are some:

This is more-less traditional Russian pop song, while being highly influenced by European and American pop, it has also much Russian sound in it, especially in the melody, the chorus and the most prominent feature of Russian pop - multiplie key changes (this song has 3 key changes).

This is a well-known folk-pop song of 1993.

And some minimalistic funk-rock

I know I should desperatly broaden my horizon... but it's still (folk)metal all the way for me atm.

So, dutch! This band made me start appreciating my own language :D

I really liked Galija-Da Me Nisi. Haven't checked out the other music on this thread yet, but I will.
I'm curious what music people will praise their lands for.

I love French music--especially the French version of Les Miserables =) This is a pretty good example of why:

I'm Spanish and there're good Spanish singers and groups, but I prefer to listen to English ones.

I don't know if this even counts.
Ataraxie has portions of a couple of their songs in French.
Albeit that doesn't make them any less dark.

I am an American, but I have been lead to many artists who perform in various languages. I'll try to keep the more extreme stuff out of this and post a few of my favorites:

This is Gonin-ish, a Japanese avant-garde metal group. Their vocalist does both the harsh and beautiful clean vocals.

This is Girls' Generation, a very catchy Korean pop group.

This is Ceza, a Turkish rapper.

I hope you all enjoy them.
