I'd like to Apply for Community Patrol. I know I'm new, but I really love this site, and am on most of the day. I try to keep arguments low, and I try to keep peace among bronies, (pegasisters.) Thanks for your consideration, Eluuna.
Eventually I want to apply but consistency is something I have trouble with on forums. As soon as I get into a regular forum schedule and don't leave unexpectedly every few weeks/months I think I will be ready.
Hello. I was wondering if there was a means to apply for just a specific sub-section of the forums? Like, I saw the community post and noticed Serious Discussion going up soon. I was wondering if one could apply specifically to moderate that?
I would like to be a fourm moderater, i would love to help everyone here! and make every one feel equal! im on almost all day long!
I would like to apply for either position. Important Information: I live in GMT -4, in the USA. Why I Am Applying: I am sick of these huge disasters that end in one or more members of the staff leaving and people getting hurt. I want to change this, or at least try. My Skills: I am good at finding problems and solutions to them. I am fair, and will not take sides or show favoritism. It is difficult to make me lost my temper, and I like to think I have good judgement of what should be done to prevent/clean up a bad situation. Also, I am on almost all the time.
Hi, I'll keep this brief for convenience and when/if I should be considered we can talk further. I'd like to apply for Forum Moderator. I have no experience, I would simply like to be a part of the staff team as I love it here at EP and want to do what I can to make it even better, the same reason most people apply I would assume. Despite appearances I'm fairly active, logging in nearly every day, more often reading posts then writing them.
I want to apply as forum moderator i would do these: -Removing spam/duplicate threads -Preventing offensive material being posted -Closing useless/old threads -Keeping threads on topic -Making sure the rules are being followed. Il try to be active as i can.
A while back I already told Mike i'd re-apply for my job as moderator, but i figured i may as well make it official. They know what i'm capable of, they know my strengths and weaknesses, they know my dedication. A reminder to the staff that i'm willing, able, and ready to get back to work.
Surely letting new people have a chance to be on the staff is a better option. Like before, (I forgot the name), you told someone to stand back and let others get a go at it.
Well, I'd like to have the chance to help improve Everypony. My original application is just for the Role-Playing section, and out of the options; RP section or full forum, I would prefer just a portion... I guess I could staff the art section, actually. That's kinda like Role-Playing. Anyway, I am willing to have a go at being a full staff. Allow me to review my general skills and talents in a more wordy and descriptive manner than in the Roleplay Applications. Top 3 Related Skills: Linguistic - Yes, I talk. I can, through the use of our common language and through understanding the other ponies, come to a conclusive understanding about almost any situation. My language skills are generally capable of morphing to those I'm conversing with, allowing me to be understood by most ponies. Fair Judging - I can, without hesitation, look upon a situation with a much less judgemental point of view. Stepping back and taking a non-biased point of view is a skill I've developed from the situation I had from schooling, and I present it as a skill and a warning. If elected as a staff, I would be gravely against taking favorites, and when it comes to dicipline, I would make sure each situation got equal treatment. Calm When it Counts - There are many people who are frustrating to deal with. One of the most important things to take into account is that generally they are just confused as to why they can't just have things their way, and need things calmly explained. A fine line defines when someone is legitimately just getting confused and upset over something... and when they're just arguing for the sake of argument. Watching for the key signs of either case is one of my skills, and helping ponies understand why things are the way they are is something I can do. So that's what I'm good at. Problem solving, advisory, and big words. However, I'm not going to be so arrogant as to say I come without flaws, and it would be unfair of me to go on without listing those as well. Key points about these is a fair reason for me to just want a specific location on the boards. Top 3 Related Flaws: Topic? What topic? - I'm not exactly good at keeping things on topic. Actually, I'm very good at talking a lot and rambling until the topic train has transferred into tropical terror. (Unicorns and their words...) As a matter of fact, I'll take most of the thread types in the RP section as suggestions. It's like buying a house and being told that there are 4 bedrooms in it, and turning 3 of them into a playroom, a den, and a craft room. I've been caught "chatting OOC on character sheet threads" or "having character sheets in an OOC thread." Both of which I think are a little ridiculous. Yes, I Have a Job - This eats up about a third of my time, with sleep being another third. Add in a game or two and some art and there goes my time. Lucky me, I can access the site from work, but there are some things which don't work properly, (for some reason, I can't comment on blogs... don't ask, but I can't watch YouTube from here either so... meh.) Rules to a Fault - When it comes to enforcing specific rules, however, (I mean, other than keeping topic,) I'll be very specific about the wording of the rules, and through evidence I will give discipline based on the rule itself, not always the intent. I would rather re-word the rule for later and warn the offending party of the re-wording and that they would have to be "more careful next time." I guess this could be good in some ways, but most sites prefer someone who bases rulings on intent, not specific wording. I'd just rather the wording of rules evolve to the point where they would exactly reflect their original intent. Anyway, that's my bio/application/ramblings. Have fun with that. I assure you that if made a staff member I would be sure to visit the site way more often than I do now. I've already proven that I can be on it like, every day. It's just recently I've had a lot of tooth pain and no will to RP... and that's my main reason to be here. 'Kay bye. EDIT: Time Zone & Availability: EST, but my times of availability are rather sporadic. I'm not available while I'm asleep, which is usually from Midnight to about 6 AM. So I guess I'm available from 8 AM until 10 PM at different difficult to determine times... but basically any time I'm not out and doing something. Don't expect to see me past 4 PM on a Thursday, though. Ever.
