Ginger quivered with excitement. They were going to deliver treasure! She was so excited! She stood there for a moment, beaming with elation. Then she went to help the captain up.
Landon was sat on the ground, one foot flat on the ground and his arm resting on his knee. He took a couple of breaths before taking Ginger's hand and pulling himself up. He smiled and thanked her.
"You can stop with the saluting, firstly. We don't salute. And two... just relax. We're here for a job and that's all."
"Yes Sir! Sorry Sir!" Ginger said and caught herself mid salute. "I guess I'm just excited. Sorry! I'll go- do.... Something! Bye captain!" She ran off, her cheeks turning red from embarrassment.
Landon scratched the back of his head and watched Ginger run off. "Be back here in 10 minutes." He called off to her. He paused before putting his arm close to his mouth and pressing a button on his communicator. "Tracy. Come in? Can you confirm that our pay has reached the ship?" There was a pause. A voice came to life from the communicator. "Affirmative, Captain. I have counted 1000 Laharan Gems." Tracy replied. "Good. These guys seem legit. Keep my emergency call on hold, though. Just in case." Landon asked. "As you wish, captain." The call fizzled out and Landon took a deep breath.
(Okay. But I'm going to call it a phone for now...) Ginger's phone rang. "Hello? Oh hi Grandfather! Yes, I'm still alive. No, no evil aliens with plots for universal domination. Yes! I'm not under any sort of mind control. Grandfather. I am over twenty now! I know that's small compared to your "Two thousand." But I am still a responsible adult. Hey! I thought we agreed never to mention the toaster incident! Yeah, yeah. I'll keep you posted. Don't go getting yourself blown up. Right, if I see one, I promise not to blink. Got to go! I love you too! Okay bye!" Ginger hung up then noticed another crew member looking at her oddly. She shrugged and smiled. "Family, you know?" Then she walked towards her room, she wanted to grab a few things real quick.
(Unfortunately, Midnight, this is serious. You have been warned two times already. A final time will result in a temporary ban, and if you continue to break our rules, we would be forced to move to a permanent ban. We can easily avoid this by reading the rules of RP thoroughly. It's to ensure that everyone has a fun time roleplaying, not just one user.) Gwen smiled slightly at Ginger's conversation, and reminded herself to ask about the 'toaster incident' later. In the meantime, however, she had noticed Landon looking nervous. She felt uncomfortable as well, and wanted to say something to him, but she felt that it might not be her place. However, she steeled her nerves and walked over to him. "You alright, Captain?" she asked hesitantly.
London turned to look at Gwen. "Ah, Gwen. Yeah I'm fine. You can never be too careful..." He said, pointing to his communicator and chuckling for a moment. "Is there something you need?" He then asked.
"No sir," she said sheepishly. "You just went a little pale there, and I figured that if you passed out, it would be best to have some sort of warning." She paused for a moment, as if considering the plausibility of her statement, and then moved on. "I do have a question, actually. Have you ever had missions with the Lahari before? I just don't quite understand why we were chosen for this high security job if we don't have any connections here." Gwen was suddenly aware that she was probably being quite rude, and ducked her head slightly. She mentally chided herself. She was still fairly new on the crew and she probably should act like it, but speaking blatantly had grown to be second nature. Besides, it had been bugging her, and it might give her some peace of mind to find that this wasn't just a random request at all.
"I don't recall doing a different job for the Lahari, no... But, we're up for hire for any job that pays us. I'm guessing they chose us because no thief would expect a precious treasure to be aboard a battered ship, would they?" Landon was cool with Gwen speaking up.
Ginger grabbed her lucky charm, for luck of course, and left her room. She ran along the corridors to get back to where the captain said to be.
Landon cleared his throat. "Okay, people! Are you ready to head out?" Landon said to his crew. "The king said to meet with his lieutenant and we shall do that. Get your stuff together."
(I decided to go with Alpha rather than Kelli.) Alpha looked up from a screen built in to her arm. "Huh?" she looked confused as she unrolled her shirt sleeve to conceal the screen and brushed her wig hair out of her face. "Wait..." she looked outside the ship's window and saw the desert planet. "When did we land in the Sahara Desert?" Despite Alpha being a robot, she looked surprisingly human, most of her appearance was the effect of expensive body modifications.
"Are ya circuits fried or summin'?" One of the crew asked. "We're already on the planet. This is Lahari, not the Sahara ya bag o' bolts. Are ya memory banks busted?"
Ginger's temper flared slightly. "Hey! Be nice! It's easy to confused sometimes." She glared at the crew member before turning to Alpha and smiling friendly. "Don't worry, I'm sure he didn't mean to be rude."
"No. He certainly meant to. And second of all, I'm a MK III Service Android, not a "bag o' bolts" as he said. and my memory banks are perfectly fine...whatever memory banks are..."
