"What the?" Arc trots forwards, cantering down the incline and past Pickpear. He comes to a full stop inside the dark space to stop before the door. "This meant to be here?" He asks Pickpear as Arc pushes on the door, hoping to see if it'll swing free.
Rifter walks down, after Arc, making sure to keep care in his steps. He looked around at the cave. Even he knew this was not natural. And he never went in caves before now. He looked around, keeping an eye on the walls. He knew better than to judge a location on first appearance. He studied the walls and the door which Arc went to.
Power Surge stepped nervously to the side of the cave. "Do we really have to- I mean, is it necessary-" He was losing the battle with himself, and walked in anyways while rambling about going into the cave.
Pickpear comes up close to Arc as she shines her light on the door. "Usually... it does." She quietly admits, looking down and making sure the floor doesn't change eraticly. This time, however, the door doesn't budge at all! With the light closer to it, the surrounding group can easily see the carvings in the stone door. Two pegasus crossed over one another and doubling back to make the appearance of a heart between them. Pickpear includes a little bit of info on it. "I've seen this before. It looks like one of the stained glass murals back in Canterlot."
"Well that doesn't help much." Arc complains, sitting in front of the door, scanning it up and down. The etched writings around the edges mean less than nothing to the former Currier. He might as well be looking at Japanese. "Why is there a door down here? Somepony live here?"
Pickpear stares down at the dirt and swirls her hoof back and forth. "Kinda. Not a pony, but something else..."
"So if it ain't a pony, what is it?" Power commented as he closed the distance between him and the group. "Griffin? Zebra? Dragon? Changeling? Lightning Sprite?" Before anypony could do anything about it, he raised a hoof and began smacking the door. "Well, what is it!?" He yelled to the other side.
Arcs mind suddenly flashes, almost like receiving an electric shock - except unexpected and certainly unwelcome. Jhera, unfortunately, feels it to. Like a reeling sensation that suddenly jerks you back, and then holds you in place. Only to whisper to you like a caring mother. He hears it... telepathicly, like he would Eight Star, but he somehow knows it's not him, and he's not hearing through the ears. The "voice" however, is definitely female, and has a sense of kind-heartedness. I can hear you knocking, but I cannot let you in unless you describe to me the meaning of love.
Tex watched Power Surge with a raised eyebrow, then realized he should probably be watching their surroundings instead. Pickpear had been very vague in her description, and if the creature was hostile then he would do well to be paying attention! He went on full alert mode.
Power stopped his assault on the door and stepped back, petrified. Jhera flinched violently as the voice entered his head. I can hear you knocking, but I cannot let you in unless you describe to me the meaning of love. Power slowly gained his senses back and whispered "The meaning of... love? What is that supposed to mean...?
Rifter tilted his head at Power's question. "Meaning of love? I'm a griffin. And a soldier to boot. Knowing about love? Not my thing."
Power placed his hoof on his head and shook it. "I can hear you knocking, but I cannot let you in unless you describe to me the meaning of love." He relayed. "What exactly is that supposed to mean? I'm not much for riddles..."
Tyro seemed to wake up a little bit there. It was always something about psychic messages that seem to jolt through his head. In fact, why was it that he couldn't feel his second tail? Or actually struggling to remember how he got here? Still, there was a need to figure out what to do now. So... Meaning of love, meaning of love. Err... "Ha-ha, ugh..." Arc blinks hard, shaking his head a little to de-fuzz it. "Happiness? Fulfilment? Errr...Can we have a clue?"
Tex had no idea what any of them were talking about, so he kept his eyes on the room around him. He remembered the spider that had attacked them earlier, and how it had messed with their perception and used distractions to its advantage. After that little fun-fest, he didn't trust anything he came across while he was on this job. While his partners figured out...whatever they were going on about, he was going to make sure nothing snuck up on them while they did.
Pickpear swallows lightly and chimes it. "It's about the trust... and the partnership between two ponies. From friends to special someponies. Does that sound right?" Each one of the players feel a very painful tug. Not the character they're embodying, but rather themselves. It fuzzes up their perception of the game world for a moment, but only for a second before returning back to normal. This would cause most ponies to go to their knees. Now Pickpear... Giving them that much info is almost like cheating, and that deserves a little bit of a step back. Pickpear looks up and around, worried, as a rumbling sound is heard deep below. It slowly becomes louder as the ground beneath everypony starts to shake violently.
All Tex could think was: I knew something like this would happen. He smiled grimly to himself. It's only paranoia if you're wrong. His favorite saying. He started backing towards the exit to the cave as soon as the rumbling started, still looking around the cave to make sure Legion, meanwhile, was a little irked at all the jerking that he was being put through, but was otherwise excited to overcome this new challenge. He was fairly sure that Eight Star was eager to try out a "fun" new monster on them. Confident, isn't he?
Honestly, I think this episode was meant more to show the fans that the pets had not been forgotten(as it wa kinda a large complaint from what I saw), and also to encourage a little fanon creativity
