    The only Final Fantasy I've ever bought is Theatrhythm. And I enjoy it quite a bit.

    Each game has it's own plot unrelated to the others. >_>

    And the reason for its name is back in 1987, Square was on the verge of bankruptcy. They called their new creation Final Fantasy because they were pinning the hopes of the company on it. It did really well and turned into a franchise. Well, it did really well for a while. But then they almost went bankrupt again and Enix saved their butts with a merger, thus creating Square-Enix.
