    Not to be rude, but that's a load of utter crap, the responsibility of living independently is tenfold that of simply making your own decisions.

    Proper catch 22 that one, my only advice would be not to shy away from the less appealing jobs (McDonlands and such) There's high staff turnover at places like that and you don't have to care about our job.

    I was gonna start off at Gamestop.Then work at Valve(MAy as well work for my favorite game dev).Then start my own company.(Maybe)

    I'm thinking that if all else fails, after College I'll be a freelance software designer. Not the most moneyful job, but a job.

    That's assuming all else fails, though.

    I've applied at a McDonalds, it's actually like a 5-minute walk away from my house. But I haven't heard back from them. I'mma check on that soon too. I've applied at several other local places such as Pizza Hut and a Board Game shop as well.
