    I think a lot of the "OLOL Japan is weird" comes from cultural differences. I think the weirdest stuff I've seen on film has been in French arthouse movies.
    Then again, maybe my suspension of belief is just bigger when it's something animated rather than filmed, which would lead to be not being as weirded out by anime. Eh, I don't know.

    I will admit, it's as weird as all hell.

    Couldn't help but noticed your picture and sig is from that animation about the Tour De France. I can't remember it's name but I remember getting into that. Or whatever I saw of it.

    But yeah, I think part of it is cultural differences but the Arthouse stuff is weird for different reasons. They want to try and be bold and original, Anime probably just wants a spectacle.
