Oh, Planeswalker Bolas and Cruel Ultimatum. <3 Grixis is my favorite tri-color deck, although I never really got into playing it. It just always seemed like a cool idea. Laboratory Maniac, huh? Interesting. I might combo that with Jin-Gitaxias... Keldeo, you're a genius. I would not have thought of that, but now my deck is even more super cool awesome. I'll just deck myself out for the win. Combo that with Avacyn to make my permanents indestructable (Jin-Gitaxias gets rid of all the cards in my opponent's hand) and a ton of counters, and that's it. Game over, man. Whoa. Just got back from Geology class. Professor showed us a documentary on an earthquake in Kobe, Japan. Let's just say you're probably lucky by comparison.
That's about how UB control, or most decks I don't play for that matter, feel to me. I tend to examine any color or deck type and see the pluses of playing it but in the end I usually just end up playing my favorites again. One notable exception was in Innistrad, where for some reason I stayed allied with Humans the entire time despite GW being a color combination I'd never played before. The bluer me should have played Spirit or Zombie tribal, but I guess it was the underdog appeal. lol And then just to mock me, when I bought my Avacyn Restored box I packed two Griselbrands and zero Avacyns. Laboratory Maniac is just one of those cards opponents don't see coming. You should have seen the game where I first played him... because my opponent was playing a mill deck. If you look up the word "priceless" in the dictionary, there'll be a picture of his face. XD If you're thinking of doing a self-mill deck on purpose, I might suggest Mirror-Mad Phantasm. Great way to get cards into your graveyard for recursion or other shenanigans. But of course, if you do, you might want to get rid of any Eldrazi titans you're packing.
Rock on! I figure I'll probably side the Eldrazi and Vorinclex, then put Laboratory Maniac in their places. Mirror-Mad Phantasm, huh? Neat-o! I dig that idea. I've never played Mill because the tactic never appealed to me, but self Mill sounds interesting. Humans always appealed to me as an underdog story as well, but one thing I like about Reanimator is the ability to play any creature, with few exceptions. And Avacyn has one of my favorite card-arts of all time, not the least because she looks like you could find her at a heavy metal concert.
Avacyn's aaaart. <3 She wouldn't just be at the concert. She'd be the one on stage! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOQhib70pdw I never got a chance to use my Phantasms myself, because I wanted to play a Spirit deck but there were just so many directions to take it in that I couldn't decide what to do, lol. Lemme know how it turns out.
Meanwhile theres a picture of a corn cob on a unicycle.. actually you're right its pretty normal around here
