What we can take from this discussion is that anything from the Ravnica block was awesome. Go Ravnica. Simic and Boros are really awesome. In particular (as far as the newer Return to Ravnica block is concerned), Boros was a super legit strategy. Lavinia disapproves.
Gah, every time I visit these days, the conversation's usually Card-Based. *Wiggles* I only ever played two card games, when I was a kid- Pokemon and Doctor Who Battles in Time. I love some playing cards games though. D-Does that count? ...
Conflux is also a personal favorite of mine because it injected a lot of personality into the game, in my opinion. Also I finished my blue-white deck, with highlights like Dovescape, Venser, and Grand Arbiter. Also lab maniac for good measure. Sent from my SGH-T899M using Tapatalk
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Venser. And Dovescape and Grand Arbiter are pretty cool, too. Just got an idea for an Azorius-Izzet-Boros deck. We'll see where it goes.
Boros is a fun pair of colours. Red-white always seemed nice together. Struck me as a fitting colour combination. Also, a final word on Dovescape: Spoiler: Rant on why Dovescape Dovescape + Venser = Dovescape only when I want it. Dovescape + Arbiter = Significantly cheaper doves for me than my opponents. Dovescape + Elesh Norn = Armies of 3/3 doves swarming my opponents' absence of doves. Dovescape + Suture Priest = Free health for me, a distinct lack-thereof for my opponents. Dovescape + Guile = ...The enemy is compressed into nothingness as the plane overflows with doves.
I think that all makes sense. Dovescape looks a little too late-game for me to want to build around it, but that's just personal preference. I think it'll work out swell. As far as Boros is concerned, I'm mostly interested in it because it makes the trio. Check it: - Boros, to pump up creatures with Legion's Initiative and attack for massive damage with Tajic, Blade of the Legion. - Azorius, pretty much just for detaining with Lavinia of the Tenth. - Izzet, for Teleportal to make creatures unblockable and for Ral Zarek, to get extra mana and take extra turns. I'm also including Champion of the Parish (it's a human themed deck as well), Elite Vanguard, Lightning Mauler and Mentor of the Meek for my full creature slots. And I've got Negate and Essence Scatter to fill up the rest of my noncreature spell slots. The mana curve is something I'm working on, but ultimately this is the direction I want to take my UW Humans deck in: RUW Azorius/Izzet/Boros Humans. And since so many of the cards I need for this deck, but don't have, are in Dragon's Maze, I know which MTG set is going on my Christmas list... xP
Hmm... I've seen a very similar deck build but with heavy emphasis on combat tricks and removal. It performed very well actually, because it really deterred people from attacking against it. Hell, the guy was mana flooded for a couple of turns but played smart by not putting down the lands he kept getting, and basically bluffed his opponent into thinking he had a hand full of tricks. I can't really say much about your built specifically since I had to look up the cards to see what they did. I haven't really followed the new sets since core 2013. On a separate note, I think I'm going to start building a new deck. I usually pick some ridiculous combination of 3 or 4 cards that no sane person would think of to base it around, so if anyone has any suggestions... :derpe:
Hive Mind + Eye of the Storm + Timesifter + Paradox Haze. And watch as no one wants to play with you ever again. XD
Yeah, I was inspired by my realization that my UW Humans deck wouldn't perform well in multiplayer, so I set out to make a deck that would perform well in multiplayer and singleplayer, as well as one that runs multiple cards that work towards the same end. The best way to find a new deck strategy, in my opinion, is to pick up some boosters and build around the cards that you fall in love with.
Mmmm... Tempting. But some else I know suggested one combination that was impossible to pass up: Spoiler: Card images Throw in Liliana's Caress, Glimpse the Unthinkable, Damnation, Echoing Truth, and maybe Devastation Tide or Plague Wind. Creatureless discard mill deck of infinite pain.
