Forgetting about the incest fics for a moment, here's what has me curious: Mares outnumber stallions six to one. Why does everyone feel the need to ship what few stallions there are with other stallions? That is not a good way to maintain a viable population!
Polygamy is a fun thing! Monogamous relationships are a Christian-based thing anyway. When it comes down to it, the biggest issues are genetic malfunctions. Look at old kings and queens, they weren't just ugly, they were horrendously deformed. All because they wanted to keep their fortune within the family. That's hella screwed up.
Incest in itself is not the cause of genetic defects. Those are just more likely since if one person in a given bloodline is the carrier of defective gene, it probable that everyone in the bloodline is. To be fair, those deformities were a result of several consecutive generations of incest. A one-off occurrence won't have much, if any, effect on genes other than making the dominant genes more dominant.

Too many people my age are the same. D: I don't know how to explain it, but the only time I ever look in a mirror and feel remotely good is when I've dressed up.
