I plan on getting back into skyrim by roleplaying as an extreme misanthrope. I'd imagine the population would drop severely. Atleast going to raid towns would be fun. Slaughter 400 guards and steal everyones stuff.

That's no fun; you eventually run out of things to do, and what then? Without arbitrary restriction things get boring really quickly. Think about playing games with cheats enabled, how long does that stay fun for?
A long time since i'd essentially have access to the core of the engine in real time. Its more of a "What do i do next?" thing.
