OK, I called the pharmacy, and they said they're manually ordering Daytrana patches. They said they'll probably get more in 4 days .
I find it odd that when I was a kid in Montana, there was only one kid in town with ADHD. One, out of over five hundred in the district. When I moved to Oregon, it suddenly became much more common. Would you like to know what the difference is? Discipline. Parents in places like Montana aren't afraid to correct their children when they misbehave, and they're smart enough to know that kids will be kids. They understand that little Timmy can't pay attention in school because school is boring, not because Timmy has a mental illness. More importantly, however, they understand that Timmy will find it much easier to pay attention if he understands that failing grades have consequences. Basically, this:
Yes and mental illnesses exist, just because psychology is a pseudo science doesn't make this particular problem any less real. I just wanna make sure we can agree on that. As for ADHD, you can discipline a person to do pretty much anything. you're just masking the symptoms that doesn't mean there was never a problem or that it wont manifest in some other way.
the existence of ADHD is based not just on psychology, but on neurology as well, as others in this thread have stated. and do you really think none of those with ADHD have TRIED sitting down and studying?
I'll say, I have a Marine for a Father. So very disciplined as a child. Yet I was still diagnosed with ADHD. Just saying. Mine manifested as me literally running around my chair at school, yet I still got good grades, again see the part about my father. So.......yeah.
This entire thing was stupid. I'd like to thank the Special Snowflake who complained, and Blizzard basically replaced the pose with an even better pose. Almost as if they just told the Snowflake that they are an idiot.
I don't really care about it either way. The complaint was less that it was sexual, but that it didn't fit the character in the first place, which I can understand. I'd assume Blizzard was on the fence on keeping that pose in, in the first place due to the rapid response to the complaint. I think the later one suits her more though.
Somebody asked me why I don't find a nice girl and get married and stuff. I told them it's because I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would have me.
There isn't a single fact underpinning your contentions here. Psychology may not be an "exact" science, but that in itself doesn't render it invalid; it has established general principles in a good deal of cases, and in instances of the wide variations between various people, general, observable correlations have been unearthed. It is also intertwined with psychiatry (not to mention other sciences), which has resulted in treatments for various disorders. Some of these treatments may not be perfect by any means, but great progress has been made. It's odd that you have admitted to having Asperger's Syndrome, as this is a concession to psychological research and principles. One could just as easily accuse Asperger's Syndrome of being as "fake" as ADHD by your logic. One could just as easily replace "ADHD" with "autism" and replace the word "discipline" with "vaccines" in this post. No matter how we look at it, we are seeing the same type of flawed logic employed by "anti-vaxxers" to "discredit" medical science being used in a vain attempt to "discredit" psychology. Additionally, this post is lacking any statistical evidence to substantiate it; its anecdotal nature is easily contradicted by Lord Architecht's post. "Thinking" with one's feelings is pure anti-intellectualism. Perhaps psychology is written off as a "pseudo science" simply because its factual information is in stark contradiction with your unauthoritative opinion? I am not sure why anyone with ADHD in this thread would want to deal with such a thing if they could simply make it go away with something as simple as "self-discipline." Furthermore, like many others, I made a complete recovery from major depressive disorder thanks to a "toxic mind control drug" (I was even able to completely "taper off" of this medication). Psychology may have to deal with more difficulties than other "exact" sciences, but it continues to make various scientific breakthroughs.
I have officially pre-ordered Final Fantasy XV. Did it when I went to pick up my pre-order of the Ratchet & Clank PS4 remake which came out today. September 2016 here I come!!
