I've been a member for 1544 days, and have 18,651 posts (Not counting Forum Game posts from before the XenForo switch). That's an average of twelve posts per day. Blackened has been here 551 days, with 9002 posts. Sixteen per day average. Lio has 821 days and 6867 posts. Eight per day. Proxy. 1793 days. 3180 posts. Not even two posts per day. Shameful.
That's what having a 40-hour work week, a priority list sorted by boredom, and sleep issues will do to a guy. ()^_^ In addition, most of the topics here at EP don't concern me, and my knowledge tends to be rather... general compared to most people, leaving my ability to take part in prolonged discussions rather lackluster.
Got a question for you. Let's assume for the sake of argument that I posted 1,000 times in the span of a year: twice in an introduction thread, three times in the Episode Discussions, and 995 times in assorted forum games. Would that mean that I only posted 5 times overall? Because to me, that's incredibly misleading and untruthful. A person would look at the side of the screen and think: "Hmm, CRBWildcat's a member since August 11, 2016. Let's see how many... huh? Only five times? Okay, he or she's a non-factor. Moving on." Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon, Popebot.
^ Exactly that. I'd also point out that forum games, especially Last to Post, are often the site of discussion and roleplay.
It's not the first time I've heard such a topic get brought up. At the forum that Lio and I came from some years ago, there was a discussion concerning the site's role-playing section and whether or not posts made there ought to be stricken from the users' total counts. Considering that around 98% of my posts there were devoted to RP (if not 99%), and I'd already accumulated (roughly) around 3-5K worth of posts... *helpless shrug* ...well, yeah. Not too many of us were thrilled with that idea.
