Hi to you too, Lio. Sorry if I'm still not around much; my parents are going to be up in Michigan for a while, and between a 40-hour work week and needing to look after the house and 7 cats I've been run this side of ragged.
Nah. If only it were that simple. Mom's rehabilitated a number of stray cats over the years, turning them from outdoor life to indoors. Much to my detriment, since it means that until she and Dad are able to get a semi-permanent home up in Michigan, I need to take care of all 7 of them. Those who know me know that I'm obsessed with cats, but I'd prefer to draw the line at two or three. The fact that we have a mostly-finished basement is the only thing keeping me from going crazy. ()^_^ But since you've mentioned Amber, I may as well toss this out there. I can't recall if you've seen it yet or not, but I was able to get a picture of Amber commissioned earlier in the year.
Very cool. I always loved commissioning artist. I used to commission Pip from Sins all the time. Don't have the money for it these days. I always thought her cat form was bigger.
Admittedly Maine Coons are pretty big, but to the best of my knowledge they don't get much bigger than this. I mean, Ambush is already a bit past Amber's knees in the picture, even discounting his ears. (For context, Amber's about 5'5".) Solely to satisfy my curiosity: on average when you commissioned something from Pip, how much did it cost?
A single character was $20. I'd have to go deeper into my old emails to find other pricing. It's been Nine years since since I've commisioned him so I don't know if the price has changed or if he's still doing them. I know he has Patreon now.
I don't think there are many artists out there I like enough to commission. Maybe Phil Foglio, but I imagine his prices would be astronomical.
From what I've seen of the works he's done, I'd say it was pretty decent quality for the price. By contrast, that picture up there was mighty expensive. Taking into account the number of subjects, the background and the art style, the total cost was around $103. Normally I wouldn't spend that much, but I was having trouble locating someone who not only drew both humans and cats but whose Commission counter wasn't closed off, and I really wanted someone with actual skill to draw a picture of Amber. Isn't he the guy who draws Girl Genius?
Never read that one. Anyway I think Multiple characters was about $50, but again these back in 2008, also I don't know if he was giving me a discount or not cause well we were friends. I assume we're still friend even though I haven't been in touch with him in a few years. I know in one case he did give me a discount, cause I commissioned him to do a "What if" for one of his own comics. This is the original: This is the version I suggested: (Lust has a habit of turning guys into girls)

...Ah. Learn something new every day. ()^_^ Magical Sailor Fuku. It's the sister website of this old forum that focused on Ranma 1/2 and Sailor Moon. Don't ask about it, because I couldn't explain it even for all the cheese muffins in the world.
Don't they're evil. I can explain MSF. Basically back before it was just a forum, it was a site with pictures of Male to female Transformation as the them. There were stories, pictures, and captions. I submitted a bunch of captions. It was a site with a forum, but when Akemi took it over she killed the topsite. Now it's gotten so bad the forum's no longer at it's proper adress. Pip the guy from Sin, and also the guy Zero Forever from Dungeon's and Barbies were both members at one time.
There was also a section dedicated to (relatively) freeform role-playing, again with said transformations playing a major role. Ambush/Amber didn't have their start there, though they were my mains there. Ambush was basically the character I turned to on those occasions whenever I felt like having good-natured fun at the expense of others. Ah, memories. >^_^<
When the RPG section was active I was active in it. But those days were already slipping away by the time I went to Fukufics.
