General Chat Thread 3: Dey tuk mah jeeeeewwwwb! I was quite literally about to ask why I haven't seen you in a while, then you pop up. Ninja. How have you been?
Oh definitely, I'm not saying stop. Enjoy it :3 True, but I'm talking about wanting to take the path of programming. Game programming jobs are not a sure thing, so in the meantime you could do something other developing related so you can get your dream job. Or you could found your own company, which is actually what I want to do...
Ta. It has been pretty fun. Also, I haven't found many people doing the same sort of thing that haven't had the images of starting out on their own in their heads, myself included. The big company thing seems rather...restrictive...
It certainly couldn't "hurt" but programming is a very broad term. For example, I have some experience with web code and wed design, and would like to pursue that in my career, however I wouldn't know where to start developing applications in Java or C++. You can learn additional languages easy enough but to learn "how" to program a specific thing is a lot harder. Even in games design you have your engine programmers, level scripters etc. But I'm sure you get me ^^ What kind of company are you trying to setup though, I'm intrigued!? My issue with that would be, I'd hate to spend all my time managing said company and not actually doing any programming myself.
My degree amuses you? Okie dokie... get XAMPP Lite for your PHP/MySQL needs, I absolutely loved it. Java is just annoying by this point, I can feel my brain grind against it.
General Chat Thread 3: Dey tuk mah jeeeeewwwwb! ...and now I am totally lost in this conversation. I like ponies. They are rated a C++ by me. :Trollestia:
Haha okay. What does the school cover in topics? I will be doing some Game development related papers in 2nd/3rd years. Aye, of course. The coding itself is easy, but solving the specific problem is what is taught, at my uni at least. The thing about my degree is that it doesn't specify certain coding for different job environments, because thats just something you pick up as you work. Well Gaming preferably, but unsure on whether I want it to be the big studios like Blizzard or Bioware or small independent. Well, I wouldn't really want to manage the company much, just found it I guess. More like John Carmack. I'm the no.1 hooker of course!
I can barely say anything even if I have something to say. My internet is sooooooooooooo slow. It takes 2 minutes to refresh, not to mention moving onto the next page of posts.
General Chat Thread 3: Dey tuk mah jeeeeewwwwb! Xani is #1 hooker maid Tempest don't get me started on Internet speeds - I have the 2nd slowest in Scotland at an average of 45 kb/s
General Chat Thread 3: Dey tuk mah jeeeeewwwwb! I am okay with this. What I'm not ok with is the fact I never glo---- *glomps*
