    It's not a school exam it's one in an advanced maths course that My friend and I signed up for, but it goes on our matric certificate if we pass the course all the way to matric

    Ahh, that makes more sense. Although usually, even our extra, non-school exams either start at 9:00am or 2:00pm. I assume that the course you are doing is not part of a standard exam board?

    Nope, it also uses schools as venues, meaning we write the exam late so the school will be empty and therefore, no hassles and no distractions
