I'm personally not really bothered by the existance of this whole R34 thing. If some guys draw porn of this show, it's not like they destroy the innocence of it. They don't have that power, they only have the power to ruin the innocence for themselves. I like to keep this show clean, it's a decision of mine. When I google ponies, I'm prepared to just look past the 'less tastefull' images. Their presence is something I've grown accustomed to after some years of using the internet, and it doesn't really get to me.
Related. Blueshift is amazing http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/09/story-trixies-favourite-pony-and-other.html
That's actually a really interesting way of looking at it. I'm impressed. Personally I don't like all of R34 either, but I am a furry and have an appreciation for most types of porn. ...don't get the wrong idea about me from this, guys. XD;
As a fellow furry, I agree. But I don't watch pornography or P. Furry Art. I used to, though. The creativity of some people is good. I may not be into the whole "*squee!*" thing in furry art, but sometimes, I find the art to be appealing, to say it in a way. When it has creativity, and thought put into it, even pornography can look "Good" in my eyes. Furry art, that is. I find normal pornography and R34 to be morally wrong. At least Furry Art is (Mostly) Original.
I'm going to argue that its very existence isn't wrong, as it's everybody's right to create and watch it, but what isn't right is that people like yourself are exposed to it when you don't want to see it. That is wrong, yes. All I can say is make use of the safe search feature, but not even that will block 'erotic' images, only pornographic ones. Personally, I'm not into it. Never have been, never will be. Call me weird, but real life humans are my thing. However, I'm not prepared to call anyone who likes this stuff weird. It's not weird, it's just their personal taste in sexuality. The way I see it, they can't help it anymore than any of us can be attracted to whatever we are. I don't see what gives me the right to stand in their way and deny them the only medium in which they can express themselves just because I don't want to see it. I'm not bothered by it, if I see some R34, I'm not all 'kill it with fire', I just close it. But, like I said, those who are into must accept responsibility for who sees it, and the fact that it can be easily found could be seen as intrusive to those who don't want to see it. 'Deal with it' doesn't suffice. As for being called all those things just for liking the show, there's no other side to that story. It's plain wrong.
R20%: Everything is 20% Cooler. :derpe: Anyways, one more 3 hour class every Saturday... @ 10AM-12:45PM I'm sure I can watch the premier at 9AM. Then I have to leave somewhat early maybe after the first episode of season 2. Eeyup, but shipfics are a different story. :derpe: Mhh...I wonder if they have R34 for Tales of Graces... :derpe: I bet you R34 of ToS is Colette and Zelos/Lloyd. Or something else...
To me, there's a difference between porn and erotica. Porn, is sex for the sake of showing sex. Erotica is an actual story that involves sex in some fashion. I prefer erotica. Same general idea with paintings and photography and sculpture. As for Rule 34 - it's kind of annoying to stumble across a random R34 in searches, but, whatever. I'm not going to let a stupid image ruin my day. Sometimes its kind of funny, other times just inappropriate.
When the sole purpose of an image is the sexualisation, that's not my thing. However, art involving sex is different. I can look past that and see the artistic side of it. It has depth. No depth in porn (excuse the dirty pun).
Complete random topic changer! I was recently drafted into the community orchestra and plopped down in the first trombone chair. At first I was excited because it is an honour to be placed so high up in your second year of playing, but after the first practice I realized that though my range is more than enough to cover first trombone, I lack the experience to play that part successfully. I've got the best range out of the trombonists in my band, but the least experience. My question is should I drop down to second trombone and build up my confidence there OR stick it out, practice harder than ever and fight to stay first chair?
Well, there's going to have to be one point where you're in the first chair, so why not make it now? Especially considering you think you have the range to do so. Give it some thought though, don't jump into something like this. Jumping into chairs never works.
I'm sure you have the skill, go for it! Anyways, I can see you really are into music and playing in a band, so why not take this oppurtunit, and play as 1st? Obviously your conductor thinks you're more than qualified, to make you first even though you have less experience. ^_^
I guess that's a resounding DO IT from the forum! So now I will need to step it up! Thank you guys so much for giving me your input! I was having so many misgivings about joining the orchestra in the first place and was second guessing both myself and my abilities. Knowing that someone out there on my side melted away any apprehension that I had about taking up this huge step in my musical career.
So I got a Skype app on my ipod...I guess that counts for something. However, I think it keeps dropping my conversations and not displaying my messages...ugh... If you guys wanna add me...just ask, I guess...
