The first book was a lovely romp through the Hundred-Acre woods compared to all the blood and various methods of death in the last book.

Did you see the movie? In the movies Thresh kills a tribute by bludgeoning her against the cornucopia. In the book he bashes her head in with a brick.
Thresh was my favorite, but was criminally underused. Clove was a psycho, I'm glad he took her out. I was impressed with the overall faithfulness of the movie, but I'm doubting if they will do the same with the last book, particularly a moment including a barbed net and another dealing with a column of light.....freakin' pods....
