Behold my only purchase from the Great London Manga Hunt I did a few days back with a friend. I'd heard it was good, and it was only £5 in HMV, so I bought it. Wasn't really sure what to expect. Just finished it, and can honestly say that it may be one of the greatest films I've ever seen. Certainly the best feature anime, anyway. Brilliant story and pacing, and great characters too. Nearly perfect all round, would recommend.
Oh, Echo. I know what you mean. But...just because some bronies were selfish, foul-mouthed, insulting, or even downright crazy, doesn't mean all of them are. In my opinion, there are bronies, and then there are Bronies. The first enjoys watching MLP, and otherwise is no different from any other human being. The second actually believes in the morals taught by the show, instead of letting it get covered up by all the other stuff the fandom has to offer. It doesn't matter if this attitude was brought on by Ponies or not. The people who did stupid things like insult other bronies, said stupid things about the Derpy fiasco, and even sent freaking HATE MAIL to Lauren Faust were the first kind. You really shouldn't put too much stock in them. I hope I helped more than I hurt. I don't really know how much all of you agree with this. :/
I love that movie. I have it on my ipod. I don't see her as anything to respect bronies always preach love and tolerance Then derpy happened all that changed Bronies sent death threats to the VA of derpy. They are still bronies, just like the grimdark,clop and so on and so on. They are all bronies.
Dawg, every fandom has jerks in it. It's our job to love and tolerate them. Being part of this fandom is truly a gift and true, not everyone sees that. We can only make them better people by being a friend and to be there for them when they need us. What you do influences others. Isn't it better to be a good influence and love rather than be a bad influence and hate?
yes, every fandom has jerks and bronies showed a big increase in them when Derpy happened. How is being apart of this fandom a gift? Is being a fan of AVA, LOC, Chilled chaos, Henry Rollins, BPL a gift? Why would I want be there for a selfish jerk, so they can turn around a stab me in the back? I do want to be a influence. If anyone looks to me like that, they've made a horrible mistake.
Do you see any other fandom creating such a great community? One where you have posted an average of 35 posts per day? Of course we should love everybody. They may not always return the love but how will we know if we don't try?
I know another community much like this one. It has the same goals as ours. Sadly few know of it, but at least it's stayed the same. I average 35 posts a day because I don't have anything else to do. I could be drawing, on tumblr, writing, the list is endless. I'm just to lazy to do any of that crap. A lot of it also comes from work. spending 8 hours in a florescent tomb is not fun. This forum passes time. As for the last part. No, I will not openly love everyone. I will not risk that, I will tolerate them, which could turn into me liking them, but I will never from the start just openly love or trust someone. Doing that is just asking to be hurt.
Love and tolerating has nothing to do with trust. It means respecting that person and forgiving them when they do wrong. Again, this goes back to the influence you have on them. Try to be their friend just don't overdo it. And true you can't be everyone's friend because of clashes in personality. Don't invest too much time in a relationship that you forsee failing. If you get stabbed in the back once or twice, well it happens. Life goes on. It's all a matter of moderation. Energy put into it vs. how you affect that person's life. We should strive to have a positive influence on all people, whether jerks or not. Don't be so scared of rejection that you let it control your life. Trust me, it isn't fun.
I think Pixel is letting the Derpy incident get to him. It's old news, the ones who didn't send death threats are the ones we should pay attention to. End of discussion.
Spoiler: made before I saw saikyo's post Love and trust go together, tolerance does not. I said I'll tolerate them. Love and trust won't happen unless I get a reason to. forgive them why. The past is only the future with the lights on. They did it once they'll do it again. If I influence anyone then they've made a mistake. What could I possibly do that would warrant influence. Once or twice. It happened 4 times,in I think, now makes 5 years. Those were for romantic relationships. I can recalled countless more friendships that follow the same path. It just doesn't happen once or twice. I don't care about rejection, why would I care what a selfish jerk thinks. Like right now, you say trust you. How do I know I can? It might be a simple little thing, but why trust a person I hardly know. not changing that^ EDIT: Saikyo, do not call me that. And no It's not just the derpy thing, that's just where it all started.
