    Tell that to my GTX 580 which out performs cost equivalent ATi hardware.
    Pros: Aforementioned pro.
    3D Vision Support.
    CUDA
    PhysX
    PureVideoHD Support
    Digital Vibrance (My Colors look prettier).

    Cons:
    Does not fry eggs. (An unfortunate "downside" is my card doesn't go over 31 degrees Celsius. Stock heat sink.)

    DIY is a pretty cheap option. You can build a rig for $500 bucks.
    (Salvage a monitor, an OS, and DVD drive, possibly an HDD).
