Never liked soda when I was really young. Thought I'd never grow to like it. I guess eventually that came to pass.
Heavy water is still water, well I guess at least until it decays into somethingat least if I remember correctly
If I'm not mistaken, heavy water doesn't decay, because deuterium is a stable isotope... Yea. Heavy water is just naturally occurring. I don't even think it's radioactive in any way, and is used in some cooling processes for nuclear plants.
Radioactive waste decays by way of Alpha, in which it releases a helium nucleus from its atom's nucleus. Beta, in which one of the neutrons in an atom decays a down quark into an up quark, and then the same neutron spits out an atom. And gamma, where any number of things could happen, such as electron-positron annihilation. I really should work at CERN.
I don't see what any of those have to do with heavy water, since Deuterium (the hydrogen isotope in heavy water) is stable, unless there's a radioactive isotope of oxygen that also combines with Deuterium every so often. Even then... at a 17% natural occurrence for deuterium, leading to a parts per trillion volume of heavy water, I'm sure it's such a more unrealistic number that has an isotope of oxygen in heavy water that there's no worrying about it, in the first place.
We are on water now? Um... I'm getting ready to go to Niagara Falls! Gonna take my 3DS so hopefully I can get some cool 3D pictures! You go stand on the hurricane deck and it sure would feel like the water was hard lol.
After reading the above posts, I have to come to conclude that my brain no longer functions very well. This must be why I failed Chemistry and Biology...
i just meant the waste that you see in the Simspons and Half life really. some bronies are smart, no wonder we are going to talk over the world at 21/12/12
I'm more of a quantum physicist. You know, quarks, leptons, subatomic particles, gluons. Also, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16639361/Gravartos%20Ogaditi.docx.
Speaking of the white fluffy treats, I haven't had marshmallows over a campfire in years. Good stuff.
