I always wrap up warm. Also, for some reason all my warm clothes are black or dark grey. I'm currently weaing black and grey striped socks, a grey and navy blue plaid shirt, a black and dark green t-shirt and a black hoodie. Also black jeans. (With lots of pockets. Cargo pants?) I am toasty warm.
iv heard this is because there are some colors that absorb heat and others that repel it so you could be warmer in a black shirt while being colder in a red this being from what iv just heard of coarse
I don't have any shirts :/ I kinda wish I had one but on the other hand I'm perfectly fine only talking ponies to other bronies :/ I dont want to try to force someone into being a brony if they are interested that's fine but if not they are the ones missing out xD The people I really don't like are the ones who don't like the show, hate it even ans haven't even watched one episode (RAGE!) EDIT: What does this have to do with pony shirts? Eh oh well
True. That's why in hot countries, you see no black cars. Silver and white cars reflect the heat so much better. Dunno about clothes though.
No that is spot on, certain colours do absorb heat more than others. White is a cooler colour than black (in terms of temperature, of course), if I recall.
Think about it this way. You see color because all but that color of light is absorbed. If you see black, then it absorbs all colors, and reflects none. If it's white, it absorbs almost no light because it reflects it all. Of course, this is only in the visible spectrum. We can't tell if black is actually UV colored, or maybe IR colored.
What you're talking about is heat radiation. White isn't a good absorber of heat, thus you feel cooler when wearing white clothes. Black is a very good absorber, so you feel hotter with white. Heat conduction is to do with particle vibration. This is part of how matter changes states from solid to liquid, liquid to gas. Heat convection is about heat rising and falling in a room. If you were to sit above a fire, you'd feel much hotter than if you were to, say, sit next to it. GCSE Physics, you teach me much.
You do realize that reflection is excess energy absorbed by electrons being released as the electrons go down into more stable orbits? And that this comes from the pigment's electrons absorbing said energy? Then, the difference is only in the stability of a given atom's electron field. Thus we conclude that white is made of less stable atoms than black is. Similarily, heat conduction is the result of the above process, except instead of escaping outwards, light stays within the object, and spreads out this way. Again, we can see that materials with high heat conductivity, such as metals, have less stable valence shells. In the case of metal, valent electrons are not even bound to a specific atom, and are thus easily excited. In the end, radiation and conduction are exactly the same thing, except radiation is head conduction through air while conduction is the radiation of head within an object. AP Physics ftw. Post Scriptum: Convection is like floating in water, except it's in air.
Not to change the topic . . . But Ima gonna change it. Just saw the newest episode, and not only did I see the unicorn version of Chocolatechip, but I also saw Thor pony! At around 8:38 . . . Go ahead, take a look. I'll wait.
