Yeah, probably. After this video, I actually prefer Derpy's original voice. The new one is annoying, and they straightened her eyes too. She should have just remained in the background as a little gift just for us. That would have not sparked the "controversy" this had caused...
I didn't know a single pony could cause so much...I dunno what you call all this. But I honestly don't see the big deal. I 'loved it when derpy spoke but I also love her as a little easter egg to find in the show...
There is no big deal. It's a bunch of over-protective parents and anti-brony trolls who sent "Wah this is offensive" letters to Hasbro. All it takes is for a handful of people who find something offensive and boom, it needs to be removed. It sucks, but in the reality of things, Hasbro needs to cover their own ass, regardless if it was trolls or legitimate requests. Otherwise legally I could go to a lawyer right now, whine to them that I was offended, and start sueing. I don't think they will completely censor Derpy because we saw her in the latest episode. If it was such a big deal, they would have edited her out before the airing. However that doesn't make it 100% possible they haven't removed her though. There is still a possibility we may never see her again in future episodes, but I'm going to stay on the positive side of things.
What I don't understand is that snails is fine. Everything he does. He is slow, not that smart. He even has a snail as a cutie mark. People should be mad at him. Derpy is just clumsy and has messed up eyes. I never planned on picking sides. But I chose pro derpy. She should have stayed fanon but that didn't happen. I believe she should just be left alone. This whole thing is so stupid. People aren't even mad at the right pony. If snails was put in like this would the reaction been the same? Derpy and snails are almost the same. I agree completely. It can be inferred that Snails isn't that smart, but when viewing the two scenes side by side, it is much easier to take Derpy's out of context. This whole situation is still ridiculs though. She's a silly pony with crooked eyes that started as a freaking animation error for Celestia's sake! We know this, but people outside the fandom most likely don't. So some paranoid mother walking by sees a derp-eyed pony on TV, it's offensive to everyone who is mentally disabled.
People can overreact so easily! It really annoys me that they can be so selfish. I mean if there is something that THEY don't like then it must be taken away from all the people who love it! What is the world coming to? or should I say "Oh what a world!"
