Snow suddenly stood from her chair, "I think I know where this book you want is, as it so happens that as a private pupil of Celestia's, I get free access to any of the Canterlot archives. I been slowly deciphering the meaning of the runes of a particular books, and I think it might be the book your looking for. Just follow me home and I'll let you read it." Snow walked out the door, "Coming?" she said over her shoulder.
''Only if i do the teleport spell: i remember Last time, you darkness higness.'' Ironically shouted Saul, before joining her outside.
"What was that all about?" Snow asked Saul as they walked to her house, "Aw never mind, the important thing is is that we are already here." They entered Snow house, which was fairly large. "Now it should be somewhere either in the sitting room, the library, my bedroom, or the kitchen." Snow said. She decided to start looking in the sitting room as it was the first room you entered after the entrance hallway.
"It's quite nice here, decorations are stylish." He followed Snow. "D'you need help to find that book around?"
"Yea, wait, no, never mind, I think I found it." Snow said, she pulled a book that was covered in strange symbols and runes, "Is this the book your looking for? If not, don't worry, I have several books written in this language."
"That is correct. I have books from just about any age, from super early history, to modern day! Just come with me to my library." Snow led Saul to her house's library, and the sight amazed Saul, it was much, much larger than Twilight's library, and evry shelf was clearly marked by time written, name, language, and other factors. "What do ya think Saul!"
"I'm speechless. That is fabulous. How did you found all those books? Many of them simply no longuer existed. Even Celestia's archives didn't had them. 'Cumulus Reflections on Cult Worship', by Red Velvet. And this one, Written by the Raven King itself! How did you... Even heard of that book?"
"Oh I spent more than enough time myself searching all over for this books, let's just some some were harder than othes to come by." Snow repiled.
"Can you read them? Not a lot of ponies can learn this language, and there's nopony who teaches it anymore..."
"Meh, I just take it slow and translate it page by page, its a lot of work and I'm sure I made mistakes, but for the most part, I'm pretty sure I can read it. Oh, and one more thing." Snow ran off, and after a few minutes, returned levitating a massive book in front of her, "This book, was written, by the Fallowed Kings themselves. It is, a complete history of the time before Equestria. As far as I know, this is the only one." she set it gently down on a table, "You have no idea howlong it took me to find this, and just to acually get, boy howdy, that was a journey."
"this... Book..." Saul approached the table, and looked at the cover of the book. "You said "fallowed kings"? It's in the Elder History. Even before the reign of the elders. That is quite... Amazing. What can i say? From now on, you shall receive the eternal respect of the Elder familly."
"Wait, what? Ah nevermind. Oh, you mentioning the Eldars reminds me of something!" Snow ran off, scanning the whole library furiously, before finally coming back with a book that looked even older than the other one. "Now this one, is a true jem of history. It is the records of even before the Eldars, during the time of the mysterious Ancients. From what I have deciphered, the Ancients were ruled by the same family as today, but it was male-dominated. So far, I have found that there were three 'Great Rulers' the best of the Ancient rulers, the oldest one, his name is Retaicgard, was the father of Celestia herself I believe. The next I have yet to decipher his name, but he ruled just after Retaicgard. The third is a complete mystery to me, from the looks of it, he hasen't even been in power yet, which makes no sense to me!"
"I could help you translate. We could bring knowledge of the ancients back to the ponies of all Equestria. Celestia and Luna would be proud of us. And maybe we could find more books, reffered in this one, and climb back all the history of equestria, till the origin of equestria itself..." Saul lost himself in his toughts for a second, then awoke. "I didn't know you were that much interested in history. Lemme tell you some secret." Saul took a book with magic, covered with celtic symbols. "Do you know this book's author, Moran Laycius? He's the second Ancient. And, also, he was... No, he is my brother."
Snow was taken aback, "Wait, he's still alive?! The Ancients lived over a thousand years ago, how is that possible?! Ah never mind." Snow opened the book gingerly, "This is the page, here is the line I haven't fully translated yet, it says 'Futago grano Tremulicin fushuda fe tu.' So far I've translated just two words, grano means Great, and Tremulicin means either Tremalius or Tremalion. The rest I cannot understand."
"We'll talk about those anients later. This line translation is "Futily, Great tremalion furiously did it." What's the previous line?"
"Hac conucuda Equestria ane frac ic fru fe ic's orresians.' I think this line might be some kind of prophecy for the near future of Equestria." Snow said. (conucuda means conquered)
"This isn't as good as it sounds. 'Now conquered, Equestria should fall by chaos within it's habitants.' Means that chaos will strike equestrian ponies... Maybe we're all gonna go crazy and kill each other?"
Snow's eyes suddenly got wide, "It all makes sense now!" she flipped to the next page in the book, "I managed to translate this a while back, it didn't make since untill now: Night and Day, End of their Reign, Through Fire and Rain, The Third shall Rise again. Saul, I think that this is a warning, that Celestia and Luna, no, all of Equestria, is in danger!"
Saul was horrified, almost in panic. "We should go and warn them. But i don't think the guards will let us go inside the palace, and asking for an audience could be very long... And more: no one will trust in a book they can't read... Shouldn't we translate it, and write the translation on some scroll, before we go to canderlot?"
