Looking around, Monochrome saw no way of escape. Try as he might, he was in another tight spot. "I swear I was just... ah... grabbing for.... scraps! Right! So if you'd like to take your hooves of me now, I'd appreciate it." Monochrome struggled a little under the pressure being applied.
"Nope. This one's a theif. Seen them all my life. I'm an assassin not a messenger. I know my way around here." Pinkly said, kicking Monochrome again.
"So what if I'm a thief, high-strung? Not like we have much choice anymore. Not like I'd wanna be in one of those big houses with all the 'proper ponyfolk' anyways. This is the good life, and nopony, assassin or not, is gonna tell me otherwise." Monochrome narrowed his eyes as he ground his teeth menacingly.
Monochrome's eyes widened as he looked towards the sound of hooves. He didn't have to look long to know this was a right proper lady, and all the thievery in the world couldn't take away his one rule of upbringing. And that was that women are to be given the highest respect. In spite of his situation, he tried to muster all of his composure. He grinned and said, "I'd bow if I could, miss, but I'm a little occupied at the moment. You'll have to take a rain check on that."
"There is no need to bow, you two. I am simply here to investigate." she said, her costume covering her eyes. (Voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUv0UrRKrZg )
Pinkly let the theif go, after giving him a glare. "I'll be done with you if you leave my friends alone." He said. He turned to the mare. "Evening, ma'am, Name's Plag- uh, Pinkly Smooth. Nice to meet you." He said, nodding in respect.
Monochrome, lifted back to his hooves, dusted himself off. Giving the short bow promised, he took a quick peek in the cart while no one was looking. Might as well be sure...
"Likewise." she said, nodding. With amazing swiftness, she was by Monochrome. "Could you explain to me what happened?" she asked politely.
Monochrome jumped, quickly looking the least suspicious he could. He stiffly turned, and glanced at the assassin. "This guy was obviously up to no good, so being the good citizen I am, I came to investigate. See where that got me, eh?"
She smiled, and, with a blur, she was on the other side of him. "Are you sure?" she said, a blue light coming from the place where her eyes would be if not covered.
"I saw that, you theiving sum." Pinkly said. He was then sotted by a guard, who rushed him. Pinkly simply stuck out a hoof, and the guard ran through the blade on his gauntlet. "Sorry about that ma'am."
A little shaken, by both the glow and the swift demise of the pony, Monochrome took a breath, trying to regain his composure. "Well, I may have been looking for a little dropped bit or two. No harm done, right?" He smiled sheepishly under the pressure.
