    Hunting is not "cool."
A life should never be taken lightly.
If you do decide to hunt, hunt for food, not for sport.

I think you are missing the point. It will be something new therefore I can conceivably see myself enjoying it.

And that's kinda the thing. I always want to do like a survival scenario for a couple of days. Like maybe not just in woods be on the beach or in the plains. I was always inspired by shows like survivorman.

I mean, if there's going to be a zombie apocolypse, I want to be ready. o:

EDIT: Oh and I do want to point out that if you eat meat, you do so for pleasure.

Collecting and shooting firearms is my favorite hobby, so needless to say, I have a fairly sizable collection (I currently own 33 guns). :omg: I don't have pictures of al of them, but here are some of my guns:

dude if you get this. then i wanna buy an akoffof you, of course the usual legal paperwork would have tobe done so itsalllegit especially with the news lately.

also on a side note when buying an ak, the actual lwood parts come off and somewhere there is a second serial number.
this extra number has to do with the fact that ak parts are keyed to that individual rifle so if the hidden number doesn't match the other, the the gun may blow up in your face when fired

    1. Sport is part of hunting whether you like it or not, if you can't stomach it then it's the supermarket for you. It is very cool to see the techniques that have evolved since the dawn of mankind, the technologies that have enabled such expansion. A life can be taken with a couple of muscles in my finger and that's really all there is.
    2. As a result of over excessive farming, no.. society is not starving at all. What is happening however is more traditional game is growing in number, unculled as had been in the past. It's destabilising to the ecosystem and overall more harmful to many species than hunting itself. Conservation is important. And this thread isn't about debating what's "right" and "wrong". It's all for the tech and hardware.

Now on to the real topic: I'm the owner of a CO2 powered Beretta 92FS pistol, a Theoben Rapid 7 Mk I, a Larona over-under 12 bore shotgun, a Browning model 276 knife and a bow! Ammunition of which is various .22 and .177 pellets and 12 bore cartridge. Had six geese with the shotgun at the start of the month, used to have a smaller side by side. Some strange model... think one of my contacts at BASC has it.

Uh, gun laws are pretty strict here in Canada, so I can't really get my hands on anything save a marked hunting rifle, so I personally turn to archery instead. Not sure if that counts for this thread. I personally have a 60lb. 32" Redhead Toxik Compound bow (sights and everything!). I usually hunt deer with it, since you can't really hunt anything larger or smaller. I don't have an actual picture of my bow with me, but here a picture of a similar model.

Bows are similar to guns, right?

only crossbows but no actually the bolt/arrow swims through the air slowerthan soundbarrier breakingspeed.

most bullets except for sub sonicsgofst enough to make a sonicboom.

though aiming is similar in that you have to account for bullet/arrow drop at a given range as well as wind / other environmental things, etc.

Come to think of it though, I'm quite content with the gun laws in Canada. There is no real reason for you to carry a gun here. I mean sure you can argue that you need it for defense, but in the long run, guns are most effective at protecting you from other people with guns. With it being safe to assume the number of people, who own guns and live in a 5 kilometer radius around me being roughly 0, I'm happy with our system. Just putting that out there. If I honestly need a projectile weapon to defend myself, I have my compound bow. Also, I don't imagine you really carry a gun around everywhere you (say, to work, etc.) so, for the most part, you'd most often just have them at home. Here in Canada, you're pretty safe when you're at home anyway, at least where I live. If anyone ends up robbing you, it'll probably be the government. Guns don't help much against them. Anyway, guns don't kill people, massive organ damage sure, but not guns.

That's my... bunch of cents really.

guns can be kept loaded. you have to draw the bow each shot. you get no second chance if you miss the murder who has a knife. meanwhile my 22 is nearb and i can put 10 rounds in the guy who breaks in in under 5 seconds. if it jams i draw the 4 inch dagger i carry. i do carry atleast a blade in public even at work. not always the 4 inch tho because of federal law but when i can get away with it the 4 inch is within easy reach. usually tucked under my shirt and well concealed till needed

Carrying a concealed weapon even in your country, no? Also, for some reason, Canada seems to have this disproportionately lower crime rate. No idea why.

i'm more of a large sword kind of person. guns are nice, but they can't sue you for damages if they're missing their head and right half of their torso. also arson

anyone who breaks into my house won't sue for damage.
it only takesasingle.22 to the head to kill instantly and a second for good measure.
after that i don't bother the cops for body removal i just go and bury the perp

yeah, but if you make an example of them, no one will even try to go in your house. if they just die and no one knows, you'll have to deal with more of them theives. also, you might want to turn the body in. otherwise you end up with murder charges. annoying hard to disprove murder charges. especially if you clean up

A little more maturity in this thread would be wonderful. It's straying away from the intended topic and should be taken elsewhere. Thanks.

$200?? Unless you go very used you're really out of luck...Honestly I would save up for something more reliable for your own safety.
