Anyone ever read them? I read the first six when I was younger, then the seventh a year later(because it hadn't came out). And my favorite has to be The Order of The Phoenix. What about you?
I enjoyed all of them, but I especially loved Prisoner of Azkaban. Sirius Black's reveal that he wasn't such a bad guy after all was awesome, Buckbeak was the coolest creature in the whole series, Lupin was the best professor ever, and the dementors were cool, especially when they took off their hood. Fun Fact: I share my name with one of the characters from Harry Potter. That should shorten the list for anyone who was wondering (which is nobody).
I thought they were childish when I was in Elementary school and they first started coming out, but I was a huge fan of the movies. I only just read the series this past May, and I really don't know why I never read them before. They're amazing! Lupin is my favorite professor, and I think the twins are my favorite characters altogether.
Much for the same reasons Zephir mentioned, Prisoner of Askaban was my favorite book. Goblet of Fire is a close second.
This was on okay book series, but I think it peaked at books three and four (Maybe five, but it had iffy moments) as the rest after it were read simply for a feeling of completion. At least, that's how it was for me.
I also have to say it's when JKR really started getting her voice in the series. Like MLP:FIM...i don't really have a fav. character cuz i love them all! HUFFLEPUFF PRIDE!
I liked them all for the most part when I first read them. Now I'm not as sure I would like them as I have become slightly older and much more pretentious . They're a good fantasy series, although I am aware that it did the bare minimum in descriptions until later in the series. I'll stick to other fantasy series more, but they are good books, IMO.
As with many, Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite. I really loved Black, and the entire book really pulled me in. I think Rowling did a very good job with the books, and they were well-written for the target audience. Yet they also had enough to pull in outliers. I cannot say the same for other books targeted at the same demographics. *Cough*
I know this thread is about the plot and the story and stuff but uhh...I've a question.. >.> <.< When you guys bought ANY harry potter book, did it have that nice "fresh pages" smell? Mine did and I loved it.
I just wanna say that this series touched upon my life in a very special way and I'll never forget them! =D
