Ruth shook her hand intently, staring at her own fingertips. "Sorry," she said sheepishly. "I have to be careful when shaking hands."
Michio said to Tommy with a smile, "Thousand bucks says you're a gamer." He recognized that level of sleeplessness.
Tommy looked over at Michio and gave a small half-sleepy chuckle. "You could say that.... Fighting games are my forte. Way... way too long of a session last night."
Blaire took a seat a few chairs away, she had been listening to their conversation. She hadn't eaten anything yet, as being near new people made her nervous. She grabbed a piece of bread and held it in her hand, a small flame appeared but she ended up burning it into a charred black piece of toast. She set the 'toast' down and continued listening. She had never played video games, but they sounded like fun.
"Last night... was sort of qualifying play-in rounds for a decent sized tournament. Things went okay, I guess. I still stayed up way... way too late trying to make the qualifying column."
Ruth listened with interest to the discussion of video games, and noticed the girl sitting off to the side. She joined her, smiling sheepishly. "I don't play video games much, so I don't really understand what they're saying, You're Blaire, right?"
"I confess to playing through Metal Gear games in one sitting every time a new one comes out, but aside from that very blatant act of fanboyism, I don't really binge," Michio said to Tommy.
"Y-yeah, that's me. And your name is Ruth?" Blaire asked, an awkward tone in her voice. "I've never played video games. But they sound interesting, I guess."
"One time I forced an entire play through of minecraft in one day." She said as she pulled out her phone and started playing on it.
"That sounds extremely tasking," said Michio. He wasn't the biggest fan of Minecraft, but he knew the amount of things that had to be done just to reach that End Dragon, let alone euthanize it. He floated a glass of water to himself from who knows where and took a drink.
Ruth nodded, as the headmaster stood up. "Yeah, that's me. I used to play video games with my dad, but..." She was interrupted by the headmaster, who spoke in a loud, powerful voice. "Students. you will now be assigned to your houses. There are six houses; Taegan, Bloakdawn, Avian, Stormbreak, Morgan, and Dorlion. The following students are in House Taegan." He unraveled a long scroll, and read off several names. Spoiler: Synopsis of the Houses. Okay, so this is OOC. We're going to make a collective vote based on the descriptions which house we should all be in. Taegan: Basically the most 'Gryffindor' of the houses. They value bravery and perseverance. Can be pretty bigheaded, but the school favorite. Very heroic. 0 votes. Bloakdawn: I know I'm going off a Harry Potter theme here, but this one is probably the most 'Hufflepuff'. Value loyalty and kindness. Very creative and imaginative. Mostly visual artists. 1 votes. Avian: My personal favorite. Value initiative and responsibility. They're very free and independent. Also, least likely to get in trouble; very charismatic. 2 votes Stormbreak: The 'Ravenclaw' house. Values knowledge and careful planning. Values self sacrifice, and hardwork. 0 votes. Morgan: The 'Slytherin' house. Very cunning, and values wit and quick thinking. Generally looked upon as the most 'evil' house, but it holds many decent people. 1 votes. Dorlion: The oldest house. Very regal. Values tradition, honesty, and thinking before acting. 0 votes. Alright! Vote!
Michio turned his attention to the headmaster, waiting to find which house he would be placed in. He had hoped everyone here would be in the same house. He'd already grown to like this group. (+1 Avian. Maybe a full name is in order? Michio Akihito, Akihito being his given name, but he prefers to go by his surname.)
Blaire pushed a lock of hair behind her ear and turned when she heard the headmaster. She sat quietly, getting nervous just with the presence. (+1 for Bloakdawn.)
Tommy turned towards the headmaster, rubbing the back of his neck. Ah, man... Houses? What if everyone here's a separate house. ((Eh, no preference, I'll just go with the flow, XD))
"Houses?! I didn't know there were houses! Did any of you guys know?" She looked at everyone with a confused look. (+1 for Morgan!)
Blaire looked at Azure, "I heard there were going to be teams, but not houses." She said in a quiet voice, and looked towards the one who had listened to her piano playing. "Aren't you Azure?"
"I had no idea," Michio replied to Azure. "Hopefully they'll be nice and stick us all in the same house." He leaned back in his seat and brushed a strand of hair out of his eye with his finger as he awaited his name.
"... Hopefully they do. It wouldn't make sense if we were in different houses and in the same homeroom. Then again..." Tommy bit his tounge lightly. "Nevermind."
