She looked up from a game she was playing on her phone and turned to Blaire. "Yeah,I'm Azure Blitz...well...it's what I call myself..."
"Oh.. cool." Blaire gave a small smile, then turned to the other people. She gave a quick look around and turned back to burnt toast.
She looked at the slice of toast. "Huh...now if someone knew time magic that would help with your bread."
"At least it's organized." Blaire said quietly, taking bits and pieces from her bread and eating it. "Friends may be in different houses, but that's the only thing that separates each other from others.'
(Is everyone okay with the Avian house? It got the most votes, but that isn't saying much.) Ruth heard a distant rumble of thunder, and she bit her lip. "If anyone asks, that wasn't me." She whispered to her peers.
(I'm alright with whatever, I just cast my vote there anticipating a tie if I put it anywhere else, lol.) Michio wondered if there was any bitterness between the houses.
"What sucks is that there might be competition between houses. And if there's competition there's hatred and if there's hatred then there's war...so I hope we don't get separated." She frowned as she put on her hood and put her face in her crossed arms on the table.
"Well this is a school, so I don't think there will be any wars." Blaire said calmly, trying to soothe her friend. "Besides, friends don't leave friends because they win competitions."
Michio nodded at Blaire, "Right. If we do get separated, it wouldn't seem logical for us to suddenly hate each other."
"First off,I didn't actually mean a war... second off,it might not be us who'll starting hating each other but back at my other school I saw two of my best friends suddenly hate me after they saw me use magic and after that they started hating me and treating me like *squee!* but then they started hating each other and getting into fights...so it could happen here between houses..."
Tommy nervously took a drink of Pepsi, thinking back about some old friends of his... well, former old friends who got in a fight and just seperated, leaving him solo.
"It honestly broke my heart seeing them fight with each other...even I tried to intervene knowing full well that they didn't want me near them and-" her voice trails off as she sniffs. "I need to go to the bathroom..." she simply got up and walked out of the cafeteria and turned at a corner of the hall.
Michio knew it was likely best to say nothing. Azure needed to be left alone, and he understood that. Still, he wondered if she would do something she'd regret in her current state of mind.
The headmaster cleared his throat. "Now for the Avian House." "Michio Akihito Robina Wright Cairbre Hass Azure Blitz Tim Dahl Tommy Caldios Danilo Howell Serena Bradley Ruth Harrison Renata Quigg Blaire Vasallo Karekin Seabrooke Eirene Saller..." He continued to list off various names. After each name, a cheer rose up from around the room. Every cheering student had the same robin's egg blue sash, and they all seemed quick, and clever.
Azure washed her face with water and looked in the mirror. "Okay...calm down...I can control my emotions...I can..." she then headed back to her seat at the cafeteria. "So what did I miss?"
