As Blade Runner was half up the castle-mountain, he was suddenly hit by a jolt of... daylight? as he fell, BR remembered that he can make the landing, but would require a blood stone to heal. luckily for him, he did have a blood stone. As Blade swallowed it, he heard what sounded like singing. it was beautiful, and sad. it was like an angel talked to him, right before he could give the voice credit, Blade had smashed into a large pile of weapons. he got up, feeling less pain thanks to the blood stone. the jolt of light must have him hard because he was standing in the middle of a road. he had spotted some form of caravan, and started walking towards it. 'maybe these guys can give some directions.' Blade thought to himself. but as he approached the moving caravan, the one thing popped in blades head as he saw the caravan. 'the hay? are they drunk or something?.' as the caravan passed, Blade was walking along the side of it, hoping that no one was around to see what he was about to steal.
Waiting for the caravan, The Iron Maiden pulled out a book. Friendship and Peace. With each page it read, it would tear it out and shove it down the viewport of his helmet. It munched happily as it read.
As Blade Runner walked along side the caravan, luckily, no one was around. the owners seemed to be distracted by an argument of some sort from their drunkedness. As soon as they got ahead of him by a short foot, blade silently jumped into the cart of the caravan, and saw something he had been searching for four years, The Steelshard Amulet, but it was locked in a small clear safe. "this should be easy," blade told himself, "and from the looks of it, it's a level two safe, easy picking." as the lock came loose, blade quickly took the amulet, and as he turned around, he also saw large amounts of gold. "i may not be in the yet, but hay, i'll take it." it took several minutes, but blade runner finally tied the ten bags of gold to himself. his body was familiar with military training to where it can withstand three hundred pounds of pure metal. before he could jump out, he saw something that he needed for "other' quests. maps ancient ruins, dragon burials, and dragon caverns, as he took the sculls one by one, he also noticed some trade routes, but didn't care. "just for some good measures" blade runner took at least two scrolls. blade quickly jumped out of the wool covered cart with his prize, and ran to find some place to keep the gold. he could have come back for the resources later, but didn't bother to think about it. as blade ran through some empty streets, he found an old abandon building in front of him. "this'll do." - - Auto Merge - - as blade runner walked inside the old house, he immediately started looking for a spot to keep the loot hidden. he ran up the old houses stairs and flung the perfect spot. there was a hidden door that led down stairs to the cellar. as he walked down the stairs, "man, what am i gonna do with this stuff," he thought to himself, "maybe i can buy this place, buy some furniture, a tv, and a few other things." As he opened the door to the cellar, he nothing but emptiness. 'this is perfect for my new forge and blacksmith!' blade sat the loot down, making sure everything was there. blade had found a key on the ground, and walked out of the cellar closing the door. "now what?" he asked himself.
Shadow halted, she heard a voice! She could not see to much, and from her... precarious, position. She was not inclined to put herself out to find out, she shrunk as much as possible, holding in close to the wagon! She was not about to get spotted now! That would ruin everything! But hold close she did! And there she would remain, using a hoof to tie something around each spoke of the wagon's wheel! A rope no less! She may not know how to slip up and take the map that way, but make the wheel break inwards, easy peasy!
For her hiding spot, Night could see all that was happening. The Iron Maiden had shown up, and appeared to be waiting for the caravan... Vali had forced the caravan to a stop, and was singing something or other... The newest recruit, Blade, had used Vali's distraction to steal quite a bit of loot from the cart... She sighed. Her careful planning had been shot completely to Tartarus. She needed to act, now. The caravan driver swayed back and forth to the melody. "That's some purty music, missy... It's makin' me sorta... sleepy..." He shook his head, attempting to stay awake. The motion must have knocked some things loose in his rarely used brain, because he suddenly realized that he was being played for a fool. "No, no, no! This ain't right! Yer after my cargo!" He looked back into the cart, and realized that the load had already been lightened considerably. Instinctively, he reached for his map, preparing to activate the small magic crystal that would reduce it to useless ash. As he did, he felt a sudden sharp pain, and looked down to see a small blade imbedded in his hoof. "Fifty yards... that's a new personal record," Night thought to herself as her thrown blade hit home. Motioning for the Iron Maiden to follow her, she flew at the caravan. The driver was already reaching for the map again, and she called out to Shadow. "Miss Bloom, kindly relieve our new friend of his burden. I'm sure that he realizes by now the consequences of trying to deprive the Guild of our rightful spoils."
Shadow nodded, diving up and pulling on the ropes she put on the wheel, promptly breaking it! All spokes snapping at once, and the wheel, with no supports, collapsing! She flapped her wings once, snatching the map from the hooves of the captain, flapping her wings and rolling as she hit the ground! Map in her mouth, making sure to not even think about touching the crystal! Looking around, noting positions of everypony! She didn't want to be taken by surprise!
"Thank you, Miss Bloom. Now then..." Night nodded politely to the stallions pulling the cart, who immediately removed their harnesses and walked over to the side of the road. This was not their first time being robbed, and it wouldn't be their last. They both knew that if they kept quiet and kept out the way, they would walk away unharmed. Besides, they didn't have anything at stake. Their contracts stated that they still got paid if the caravan were to have an accident or get robbed. The driver was staring at the blade in his hoof and whimpering. Night pulled it out quickly, wiped the blood off on the driver's mane, and stored it back beneath her cloak. "Quit blubbering, you overgrown foal. It's just a flesh wound. You'll live." She turned back to her fellow Guild members, and laughed. "Now... let's claim our prize!"
as blade walked on the road, he saw the caravan that had been torn up, and the driver was dead. it was abandon. no one was around, but three guards that were investigating the site. as soon as they saw blade runner, they charged at him with their swords unsheathed, "by order of celestia, you are sentenced to death!!!". blade quickly pulled out his great sword and sliced through one of the three guards. as the guard stumbled back, his upper half of the body fell to the ground, the lower part did as well. the other guards charged at blade with fury, but it did no good. blade sliced through the leg of the first guard, and turned to cut his arm off. the second guard was about to stab blade, but in a matter of a split second, he felt pain in his torso like no other. he looked down only to see a large jagged sword though his chest. Blade then threw him in to the river, and heard someone speak. "y... you wi... no... get awa... wit dis." before blade could reply, the guard died from the loos of blood.
Shadow smiled and nods, "Lets!" She would make her way towards the back of the caravan, looking inside... "I swear there was'a lot more lootables than that..." She frowns, maybe this caravan was smarter, and hid the bits under something, or in the walls... either way, she was quite disappointed!
Blade runner walked out the old house locking it. 'maybe those guards are still looking for me.' he thought. *sigh* "i need to visit the cemetery." before he could do that there was a small business he had to take care of. Blade arrived back at the wreckage site, watching the thieves take what they can. when one of them said something about the loss of loose, he bursted out laughing, but quickly walked to the cemetery. as he arrived at a tomb stone, he set a note on there. "How long has it been?" blade asked looking at the stone, "i can't begin to tell you how much i missed ya. it must have been almost five years." as blade thought about his past more, a tear rolled down his cheek. "i'm sorry i couldn't protect you." before he could leave the cemetery, he whistled, loud and hard. a falcon landed on the ground, blade pulled out three scrolls, "two of these scrolls are trade routes, and the third one is a meeting letter, make sure it gets to them, we can't afford to lose these scrolls. i'll wait for the guild here. and i almost forgot, be sure to take it to the wrecked caravan, give it to them. i'll wait here for them." the falcon nodded and took off.
Vali sighed as she frowned at the others. "I was so close, too!" she complained. "If he had stayed under the spell for just another minute, he would have fallen off the caravan." She pouted for a second, but brightened quickly. "Where did the new recruit... what's his name.. Blade, I think. Where'd he go?"
Blade Runner was getting impatient, hoping that his falcon should have delivered those scrolls by now. As he waited for half an hour in the cemetery, he still had a useless piece of paper on him. Blade grabbed some dry dead grass, rolled it in the paper, and lit it with lighter he made when he 5. As Blade smoked the grass-cigarette, his body felt warm. And knew he would wait even longer.
The Iron Maiden glanced up from its book, before putting it away. The Iron Maiden bellowed loudly, and charged to the carriage. It began to frantically search for any sort of treasure, smashing any crate or barrel needed.
As the falcon flew above the carriage, it dropped the three scrolls on top of the huge beasts head. It only remembered that one of the scrolls was a meeting being held at the cemetery, but it didn't care. As it flew off to the cemetery, dive bombed at the carriage, grabbing a piece of bread where the three scrolls laid.
Night quickly relieved the caravan ponies of their weapons and bits and sent them walking in back the way they had come. It would be hours before they reached the closest town, and longer still before they could return with the Guards. That gave her time to try and sort out the mess that had just occurred. "That was just awful! We are professionals, not common bandits! This should have been a simple job, not a three-ring circus! Where are Robin and Blade?" She sighed. "This is why we make plans. Everypony, grab as much as you can carry. We have what we came for, so it's time to head back to the Hall and get this stuff ready to fence. I've already got a few buyers in mind."
Shadow sighed, "Our plan was per'ect. Ah didn' see who, but somepony went rogue. Got in, took the loot and fled, makin' all our plans go astray!" She shook her head, "May Luna help whomever it is when ah find 'em " She jumped in and pulled up just a bag or two of bits, "There's not much left either..." With a sour face, she jumped down, and would let whomever wanted the rest of the loot have it, the caravan's secret stash, the one that the captain would always have for the sake of urgency, was hers, and she would rather have that than try to fence other items~
It was a full hour now, Blade had been waiting at the cemetery long enough. "Skrew it." he said. As Blade Runner held his second cigarette in his mouth, he started walking back to the caravan, 'sweet jesus have mercy, when i get my hands on that bird.' few minutes later, Blade was at the caravan. The thieves were still there, good. now how to approach them was different. If it were the guild itself then he would be in trouble, but had a pretty good excuse. As Blade approached the group, he noticed that a light-yellowish pony looked at him angrily.
Night glared at Blade Runner. "You have twenty seconds to explain why you interfered with a Guild job, and what you did with the things you took. This was a carefully planned heist, and you almost blew the whole thing with that clumsy grab-and-dash job."
"here, let's reverse that question," blade was extremely angry at moment, "ONE- Why did the guild not send me a map?! TWO- i DID NOT know this was a mission, so they hay are YOU chewing me as soon as I ARIVE in a town that I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT?! Three- I RISKED MY LIFE, TO GET HERE. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THE GUILD FOR THREE, NOT TWO, THREE WHOLE YEARS. I have been sending messages, items, and quite a few letters to you guys, AND ALL I GET, I JUST SOME LETTER, WITHOUT THE MAP???!!!!" Blade Runner was at the point of yelling, "Do YOU know what hay i have been through to get here. I have traveled through the ruins tethesda, barley survived the steelshard caverns, and worst of all, my parents and brothers died from a raider invasion for which i wasn't there to stop. Now, i'm going to answer YOUR questions now." Blade was still angry forgetting the cigarette in his mouth, but he tried his best to lower his voice, "I did not know this was a guild job. the only thing that popped in my thick head when i saw the caravan was that i was gonna take tha bits and leave. The items i took is an old abandon house, but i will have to show you myself. the grab and dash, i'm completely use to that because i'm wanted in several city's, being accused of murder isn't the greatest of ideas either." As balde remembered the site of the house his family once lived in, he knew he had to be easier on people. "look, i've been through hay my whole life. and my life is a burden, so i'll give you most of the items. but i'm gonna have to keep the artifacts for study, if they are not dangerous, then i'll give them to the guild, if they are dangerous then i'll have to keep them."
Robin and his men dropped from nearby trees. There duty keep an eagle eyed view on the whole job. "Kid, If you want to fully be accepted into the guild. You better pay respect to your superior. That includes raising your voice. Now Silver, I was in the trees the entire time. The whole job passing before my very eyes. So any questions I'll try to provide an answer."
