I'd say call it a countermeasure for those too stupid to get a base concept such as that. However, there's no need to worry now as some sort of a rule thingamabob has been implemented to pop up once someone signs up I believe.
This isn't really about the rules, guys. :derpe: This is about what will make people perceive you better as a person. It's a way to look better. To be seen as a better influence to others. Man, I would have killed to have a guide like this three years back.
Nice one Dashie. Do you think I could hazard a guess at one of those other forums? Pretty good points. I feel compelled to try out RPing.
Really? I have 12000, what makes me so special. The fact that I never leave. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Wow Super Rainbow! You really know your stuff I'll be sure to keep to these and use this thread as a guideline for me. As I want to have the most enjoyable experience as well as make the most enjoyable experience for others on this forum. And yeah, can this be stickied? It'll be VERY useful for newcomers and a good reminder for other users on the forum.
Zephyr! Saikyo! Y U NO STICK THREAD!? X3 You both have the ability to! Ah well, I shall do so, for great liberal justice! ~Stickied~
I didn't sticky it because in all honesty it's not something that (I think) needs to be stickied, sort of like the general chat thread or the Your Face! Thread (Which was unstickied.) But hey, it's a great post, so I can't really say anything. I just think the rules are a fine enough guideline to posting.
I think that a slightly neatened-up version of this thread should be linked to new members. The rules are one thing but this is more like guidelines to really enjoy the community. The whole "don't be afraid to jump right in" thing could be the reason why some members leave. I know I have no rights to do any of what I said but maybe it could be taken into consideration. Also, great work so far Super Rainbow Dash.
I just now noticed this thread. I dub it "The Thread for People Who Want to post Good and do Other Things Good Too" The joking aside, this is some excellent advice that, quite honestly, I wish I had a long time ago!
DO IT doitdoitdoitdoitdoit! Me too. When I joined my first forum I was clueless. Eh, fortunately I found my way into a cool crowd (actually a bit like this forum), and learned well. Honestly, this is some great advice. It seems like common sense to us, but some ponies don't have our experience. doitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoit!
What an interesting thread. I think I'll read through it again since it's quite encouraging. I'm just so bad at making new friends. I never know what to say at first and usually when I join in the conversation I say the wrong thing and end up looking like idiot or a jerk.
