They were walking through the meadow, and Briar looked up at the sky, squinting. "I wish it would snow."
She looked over at him. "Snow is nice. It means you can stay indoors and be warm while the wod outside is all different. The flowers don't grow, though."
"That's true..." he said thoughtfully. "There should be a compromise..." "Briar!" Canyon would hear him take a deep breath as he looked over his shoulder. A young pixie was touching down in the grass, her brows furrowed. She was beautiful, with wavy blonde hair that came down to her shoulders and golden eyes that were reminiscent of sunlight, deepening at the edges to a rich orange. She had a concerned look on her face and her mouth was slightly parted, her head tilting with worry as she studied him. She had a light smattering of freckles across her small nose, and she was wearing a simple white sundress. Her wings vaguely resembled dragonfly wings, and she folded them gently against her back as she landed. "What happened to you?" she asked, her voice warm and quiet with concern. Her gaze darted to his wings, and she seemed distressed. "You're hurt."
Canyon hesitated as she looked back, observing the pixie nervously. She pulled her hand back towards herself, stepping back slightly.
Briar looked over at Canyon reassuringly before looking back at the pixie. "I'm alright, Eden," he said quietly. "I just had a run-in with some humans." Her eyes widened and she studied them for a moment. "Listen, don't say no out of instinct, but Sam has some stuff for wings. He gave it to me when I first went in for those studies. We could get you some, I'm sure he'd be happy to..." "No," he said, shaking his head. "Canyon already put some stuff on it. We're just going to see if there's anything more we can do." For the first time, Eden's gaze flickered to Canyon. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said apologetically, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. "I should have introduced myself. I'm Eden." She extended a hand, giving Canyon a warm, but nervous smile, clearly still worried about Briar's wings.
She gave her a kind smile, but her gaze quickly returned to Briar. "Are you sure, Briar? It really works." "I'm really fine. We should actually go; we have an appointment." Eden blinked at the bluntness of his words. "Oh... okay. It was nice seeing you, then. Good luck." He frowned slightly but nodded. "Thank you." "It was nice meeting you, Canyon," she extended politely before picking up her basket, taking to the air.
He sighed a little irritably. "Yeah. That's Eden." He turned to her and took her hand. "Are you alright?"
