Her hand trailed along his waist with a slight frown. "I will then. And stay up all night until you sleep too."
"That doesn't seem fair," he said with a slow frown, tilting his head. "Just let me do this, Aspen, okay? This is my job. You're cute when you sleep anyway. It'll make me happy."
She sighed, going over the hammock and slipping in. "I wish you would take a break.. Even a small one."
"Tell you what," he said primly. He was often making deals with her, and he would always lean against some surface and steeple his fingers, as he was doing now, his warm eyes studying her affectionately. "If you go to sleep now, I promise I'll join you in two hours and sleep. Deal?"
"One hour," he countered, a small smile playing on the corners of his mouth as he watched her affectionately, "and 45 minutes. Do we have a deal, Miss Price?"
"Excellent," he said with a cheeky grin, straightening up and returning to the forge. "I will see you in an hour and 45 minutes, then. Sleep, now. Uphold your end of the bargain."
She nodded decisively, lying down and pulling the blanket over her. She closed her eyes and was asleep just a few minutes later.
He looked down at her with a small smile before resuming his work. Exactly an hour and 45 minutes later, Ky exhaled, setting down his work on the table, dusted off his hands, and came over to the cot. He brushed her hair back gently before slipping in behind her, cocooning her body with his and wrapping his arms around her waist, kissing her cheek gently.
He relaxed, lying back down again, brushing her hair back soothingly before slipping his arms around her waist. "That's the plan, my love. Sleep."
Ky was having a bad day. He was sitting in the corner of his workshop, wiping off his hands on a dirty old rag, his brows furrowed in frustration. He glanced over at the entrance to the workshop before looking away quickly. He shouldn't do that, he scolded himself. It wasn't fair.
He looked up, his expression brightening somewhat. He stood up, dropping the grimy rag on the table. "Hey. Yeah, of course you can. What's going on?"
