He huffed in irritation, looking over at the forge. "Something's gone wrong with the furnace," he complained, leaning against the wall. "And the metal isn't responding well, and they're rusting in the corner, and-" He stopped himself before continuing and shaking his head. "Things are just annoying."
She went over to the furnace curiously before looking over at him. "What do you think is wrong with the furnace? Maybe I can help."
"No, don't get too close to it," he cautioned, reaching out a hand and pulling her back gently by the hand. "It's gotten into the habit of combusting occasionally. Really quite annoying."
She looked back at him, a frown crossing her face. "Combusting? That's not safe. You really should get it fixed.." she suddenly looked worried, him observantly. "You haven't gotten hurt, have you?"
He laughed slightly at her concern, ruffling her hair playfully. "Nah, Aspen. Don't worry. I'm alright. Just have some singed eyebrows."
She relaxed, squinting up at him. "So you're frustrated because things aren't working out. Why don't we take a walk to cool off, or something?"
She looked down at their hands with a small flush before letting go and starting out the door, expecting him to follow.
His hands were in his pockets, the sleeves of his grey shirt rolled up around his elbows. He frowned, shaking his head slowly. "Any cool places I know of, you've already seen, Aspen."
