I agree the message Ponyarchive gave Hasbro was uncalled for. The best thing that we can do is to make sure Hasbro knows that the majority of our community does not feel the same way and Ponyarchive does not represent the way we view Hasbro and the Hub for giving us the opportunity to see such an awesome show.
Where am I going to get my pony fix? ...besides YouTube, and I don't want to spend any of my monies on Apple-related stuff. :derpe: Oh well.
I don't like buying stuff through iTunes either blech. And when a company starts randomly targeting torrent sites, and things like that, it usually means they are in the works of releasing a DVD set. Which I would scream if they do.
DVDs! As a UK brony, there's something to look forward to. (Seriously, does anyone in the UK actually watch MLP on boomerang? The sooner I can get my pony fix legally without sponsoring Murdoch, the better.)
I think we'll be able to get through this. I mean. We're Bronies. Has anything really stopped us before? No? I dunno... I've only been part of this community for one month now or something like that. But I feel we'll pull through if we're willing to.
Has anything stopped us? As you can tell, no. Inconvenienced greatly? Yes. The various chan's "cancer treatment" being the least of our worries.
Losing Ponyarchive won't really stop people from getting the episodes--at least not me at all. If you want them in such high quality, it won't exactly be legal. Watching them on YouTube (since Hasbro is FAIRLY generous with letting the videos idle up) is fine. You can't really stop torrents unless there are too many eyes on a single one, though.
The archieve goes down alexs removed, tombstone has video go down and woodentoaster. I think the trolls are launching an attack to kill the fandom. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
The fandom has too much steam going right now to properly die out just because the trolls are going at it. That said, this will always be a fairly small fandom and over time it will wane and mostly fade off. It's the way things go. For the mean time though, enjoy the ride, cause this community is still going full bore.
They are. The group of trolls are called the NCF (N***est Crook Force). They are specifically targeting brony musician channels and filing false copyright claims to take them down. They obviously are a bunch of losers who are jealous because they would not fit in a fandom as amazing as ours. They also lack any talent whatsoever so that to make themselves feel better, they need to try and destroy those who do. I don't think the entire fandom is in danger. These guys are just being a nuisance and will eventually give up.
I agree, it's only a few trolls going after Youtube channels, they'll get bored and leave. I don't see this as any crisis, just another bout of trolls coinciding with a perfectly legal and reasonable Hasbro decision.
