They have more than the one movie? While I look back these days and see the show for what it was, a half an hour toy commercial, I'm still very found of it. The Movie was better done than any of the solo cartoons, and while it was sad they killed off so many characters, at the very least the Dinobots stuck around.
You are most certainly my new friend, now. This may be sacrilege, but I thought Hot Rod went through a really nice hero's journey. I actually like Rodimus Prime. And Season 3 was my favorite simply because it was so much more trippy than the earlier seasons. Also, there's a lot more meat to season 3 stories. It was traumatizing having so many characters killed off, but it made it somehow a little more real. It gave the story more meaning. I'm glad they didn't go too far with that, though. After a certain point, killing off characters becomes meaningless and psychopathic. It's easy to say it was a 30 minute toy commercial. And if you try to produce a new series or movie (I don't know who would dare) and hold that cynical belief, you will make something even worse. But if you dig a little bit, there are episodes worth keeping. Most of them are in season 3 IMHO.
